is there a gunchick gene?

Here's my mom's target, from her first time at the range all by herself - she has it hanging on her fridge.

Pretty awesome, huh? Look at that big hole in the center!

  2. Yeah, there's definitely a gene there somewhere.

Isn't your brother a pretty good shot too?

  4. Ditto what falnfenix said... my moms pretty cool what with a tat, and a motorcycle and all but I think the closest she's ever gotten to shooting is an air rifle way back in the farm days used to scare away starlings. *sigh*

  5. I definately think there is a personality trait that brings out the gunnie in people. It might be the combination of solid moral perspectives, self-respect, sense of social responsibility, and the understanding of societal obligations. And probably a healthy serving of spunk.

  6. Excellent! Isn't she a little old to be putting personal creations on the fridge??? :-) Hell, I'd post it on the front door!

  7. Posting it on the front door could be more effective protection than those little stickers the alarm companies give out.

  8. Your Mom rocks!!!

I have one kinda like her. She's 70, has her own XDm & is going to Front Sight next week for their 4-Day Defensive Handgun course. And she's letting me go, too!

She has to, I'm fortunate enough to be married to her!!!

  9. Nice shooting for sure, what I like is that she is proud of her shooting and is displaying the results, that is a great sign. You are a rabble rouser! Thanks.

  10. Your mom rocks. If a hoard of zombie's were attacking I would want her on my side.

  11. There is nothing better than the uniniated looking at a target with a smile and thinking, "I can do this".

Other than a proud instructor reflecting back that smile and thinking, "Yes you can"
