My mom prepared Thanksgiving dinner today. There was stuffing and gravy and cranberry sauce...the works. I even made a pumpkin pie.
We all gathered around the table to say goodbye and offer best wishes to Mike's older brother Marty, who will miss the holidays again this year.
He leaves for Iraq tomorrow.
hope he makes it back safe and sound
ReplyDeleteAh, bless him. All the best to Mike's family. You'll all be in my prayers. Thanks to his brother for so nobly serving. We are indebted to him.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. Godspeed to Marty. My "brother" Steve is there now. Maybe they'll be at the same base.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to him, and may he come back safely.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless him! Sounds like an emotional and rich parting. My wife just asked, looking over my shoulder, did she change her name to Breda to sound like Beretta? ;)
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers to him and your family. My sincerest thanks for his courage in serving this country. May God watch over him.

Tell him to stay safe! And thank him for us!
ReplyDeleteGodspeed, Marty.
ReplyDeleteCome back with your shield, not on it.
Ah, and who got moved out because of the economy? But we are still sending our best to foreign lands, I wish them all well and a safe return and prayers for the families left behind as well as those in our service. Some of us remember that it is in OUR Service that one serves.
ReplyDeleteNice you could do an early Thanksgiving.
My nephew just got back from Fallujah. He said that he joined the Marines to kill the Bad Guys, and ended up gassing HumVees.
ReplyDeleteI hope Marty is as bored, and that he comes back safe, and soon.
Always such a bittersweet meeting, that pre-holiday holiday. One never gets used to it.
ReplyDeleteGodspeed Marty. Watch your six and thank you for your service.
