pigs flew

I can't believe it. (and apparently the audience can't either. Their nervous, confused laughter might be the best part of the video.)

  1. MWUAHAHAHA! SNL has suddenly improved. Big O ain't the Golden Boy anymore!

  2. "Reader Peter Rice argues that the sketch will give permission to other comedians to make jokes about President Obama, something most have been unwilling to do either for fear of being labeled a racist or because they supported Obama."

Give permission? Whose permission? Excuse me while I type in my street address on Google Earth to make sure I'm still living in the right country.

Congratulations to SNL's belated effort though--I believe South Park parodied Obama the day after the election.

  3. Yes, indeed, the sky is full of pigs today.

  4. Usually Fred Armisen has more of a pronounced imitation of Obama's speech patterns. I didn't notice that at all in this skit. The substance was hilarious but more people might have laughed with a more obvious Obama-imitation.

  5. I HAVE a DREAM!!!!

In January of 2013, I will don a T-shirt either 1 or 2XL, (Down from my 3 or 4XL), that will say "I survived the Obama Administration"

Today I'm going amongst the people who wear black lipstick, wearing a shirt that sez "fuh-GOTH!!! (sound it out)"

I'm usually more mellow, but the roomie from hell has been bring her alma mater home with her.

  6. Thanks, Breda. I haven't bothered with SNL since the "Lockbox" debates. This skit was actually worth the time.

  7. P.S.
I have to point out that this skit illustrates SNL's lament at the ineffectiveness of Obama at achieving these lofty socialist goals, more than it reveals any skepticism on SNL's part about those goals in the first place. In other words: SNL still sucks.

  8. The honeymoon's over. Obama's ratings are circling the drain. He's toast. (Wait, was that racist?)

  9. Wai - I'd say not. Toast comes in lots of colours.

  10. If the toast is burnt it's racist!

Of course Obama is Black but not "Black-Black" as Whoopi would say...

  11. Since when do you need "permission" to make fun of a President? People didn't need to have "permission" to blast Bush all the time.

  12. ROTFLMAO! I thought SNL was done being funny over ten years ago! I guess I was wrong!
