something to tide you over

We've just discovered Torchwood through the the magic and wonder of Netflix. Highly recommended - best entertainment money I've ever spent, really. But then again, I don't get out much. Anyway, I thought I'd share this scene. Guns and sexual tension, how can you go wrong?

Besides the teacup grip and the silly two-fisted shooting it's pretty great. Complete with brand new gunchick grin...and that wee gap between her teeth? Absolutely charming.

(We're in a frenzy of gardening and grilling this weekend because zOMG, finally! A weekend with sunshine! Hope you're having a good one too.)

  1. Torchwood is a great show.

Eve Myles (Gwen) is on my list too.

  2. I didn't watch it until the third series. Now I have to go back and catch the first two. Good stuff.

  3. Enjoy Torchwood its a very good show made in Cardif by the way as is Dr Who and there is some crossover between the two shows.

  5. Torchwood is teh awesome, even with the secret-HQ-for-world-alien-response-team in Cardiff thing (sort of like if we had it in Charleston, WV).

But it's cool to see the BBC do a show with guns, even if it's an American who has to shoot. The show inspired my lovely bride to actually post, Why Britain needs America Around to shoot the bad guys.

  6. In my opinion, Torchwood is significantly better than Dr. Who, if only for the slightly-more-realistic (which is not too hard)and nitty-gritty nature of it. That, and Gwen... well... Gwen...

The bad news? The Third season is abbreviated and the end of the show... for now (which is the good news). My understanding is that the fourth season is either in filming, or done already.

  7. It is a shame that she reminds me so much of Dave Foley; it is hard to take she serious as a result. (The dual-wield shtick doesn't help.)

    The show looks interesting though.

  8. Just be warned - the third season is a bit dark and disturbing, and the ending is pretty depressing.

  10. Of course, the Brits made him.....well, let's just call him "Butch" and say he has twice as many choices for a date on Friday night than most of us do.

Regardless of that, which makes him unique for an actions hero, the show is great.
