1. Shallots are essential
2. Sometimes people you're not related to can be family too
3. Sleeping in and snuggling while covered in cats is a good way to spend a morning
4. Charlie Brown still makes me smile
5. Turkey is delicious when it's cooked
6. Cocoa butter is cheap but it works
7. My cat is violently opposed to bananas
8. The day I have to work on a holiday weekend will always be the day it's sunny
9. Whiskey makes me giggle until I cry
10. And, lastly...it really is okay to take a day off from blogging.

Excellent lessons to learn. I learned #9 about a year ago. Have you ever seen a 6'4" 280lb guy giggle uncontrollably? I saw the video, its kinda funny actually.

We had a cat named Doctor Noodles that was crazy for cantaloupe. We would have some cantaloupe and cottage cheese late in the evening and she would be right there shunning the cottage cheese in favor of the cantaloupe.

When I was a kid, we had a calico named Rags that loved cantaloupe.
