Ok, I'm done for today.

I'm sick of the news, I'm sick of politics, but mostly I'm sick of sitting in front of the computer, trying to think of something to write. I'm going to go fold some laundry, watch an episode of Firefly and paint my nails. I may eat some macaroni and cheese (the real stuff, from the blue box) and sweep the floors. The glamorous life of a blogger never ends.

Meanwhile, I have a task for you, my dear blogreaders. Your opinion is greatly valued here at The Breda Fallacy so if you would, please take a moment to answer one simple question. It is of the utmost importance - your decision today could affect the future of our great nation. It's up to you. Let your voice be heard.

(I'll post a photo of the results.)

  1. I've always been a fan of Gunmetal Grey, even before I was a gun guy. Dark blue is also excellent.

  2. I say go with some Del Sol. I have one that is my favorite to wear; it is almost an olive drab and changes to a dark ruddish purple in the sun. O

But a lot of color choices here...

  4. Gunmetal Grey!

It's a sick color, especially gunmetal grey wheels on a black Mazda 6.

  5. Firefly is always good for what ails you.

I voted for Purple BTW, but my daughter prefers the different color on each finger approach.

  6. I'd think gunmetal was the obvious choice. No one in my house asks my opinion about these sorts of things. There's probably a reason.

  7. I recommend pinstriping your nails

  8. The rosey red/fuschia to match your Bersa grips.

  9. Come on. Everyone knows that the only real colour for nail polish you can use is green. It's in the Bible somewhere. Between the rules against not eating bread on Umptdays and washing your ears with figs.

  10. Paint 'em the color of Hoppes No. 9. If the odor can be matched to the color, so much the better.

  11. Well, I voted vampy red because hey - it's vampy red!! And you will feel all better & all vampy & everything.

Since television has become all Obama, all the time, I've been leaving it off. Old movies. Long romance novels where there's no surprises. I'm thinking I may actually clean the house this weekend. We'll see.

  12. Heh! I was a fiend for colorful nail polish for about a year before accepting that my fingernails are too damn soft and fragile to waste the heartache on it, and with the exception of the red, all of these were shades I favored.

You could do what I liked to and choose two colors to do simple designs with... I would probably have taken the gunmetal and the purple, painted the nails of one hand in one base color and the nails of the other in the other color chosen, then paint the tips the opposite color. I think the most elaborate I ever got was doing the secondary design like the spots on a die- one dot for pinky, five for thumb.

  13. Red to match the lipstick :-)

Vampy??? You need to vamp? I don't think so :-)

  14. Hey, you are the colorwheel right? I thought it was about matching accessories. Therefore what color is your hat? (Just as an aside bacon goes well with the blue box stuff.)

  15. Purple with glitter. You need some happy. That seems happy.

  16. I had to vote other.

My vote is for the WW II Cosmoline soaked Parkerizing green!

Just like a good WW II M1911 Remington-Rand or a WW II era M1 Garand or M1 Carbine.

  17. Vampy red. No question about it. Fits the mood. Fits the persona. Perfect match with a 1911.

  18. I had my nails done last week, and i'm rockin' with We'll Always Have Paris from OPI... deep, deep wine color (perfectly matches my Cabernet...)

If you like gray, OPI has a color called My Private Jet that is gray based, but has a psychedelic glitter overlay ... I had that one before this, and my husband thought it was super cool.. he said it looked like a motorcycle paint job...

  19. Well, little lady, I suggest white and then edged out to the sharp points with that deep fresh blood red, if you want to be biologically accurate, a tinge of yellow at the base where the littlest creatures grow.

If you can't carry concealed at the library, they probably would worry about the cruel nail polish, but I see real possibilities for your psyche.

  20. A friend who owns a salon told me there's a color called "I'm really not a waitress" red.

    I voted for red, btw.

  21. Guards Red like on a Ferrari. Mmmm.

  22. (haven't read all the comments so not sure if anyone has already suggested this) but i think you should paint miniature guns on your nails - i know that this is tricky (less so if it's your toenails) but i think it would be a great laugh. You'll probably have to limit your self to handguns unless your nails are pretty long.

  23. How about a nice ivory color. Patton would approve.

  24. Blue. I don't know why, but it really works for me. Well, not me. Well, just the toenails.

  25. Since Hunting season is ON in the midwest and you're a gun person How About DAY-GLO ORANGE?

Best story I ever heard about men and fingernail polish was a neighbor fell asleep in his easy chair with his socks off. His daughters painted his toenails and then hid all the remover in the house. For days he drove as carefully as he ever had in his life because he was scared if he was in an auto accident, the EMT's would find his painted toenails.

    All The Best,

  26. Depends on the gun you're carrying. :-)
