Interestingly enough, I had the EXACT same thoughts on that story as sailorcurt.
I tried to leave those thoughts in the station's little email block. Ironic that no matter how many times I tried, it always came up with some sort of error as to why it wouldn't work.
Be polite, please. (also I'd like to add that I reserve the right to delete any and all comments that I find offensive, argumentative, or just plain tiresome.)

The blew it real good in the story:
ReplyDeletethe boy apparently found his father's a .25-caliber handgun and was playing with it when it fired.
Um...guns don't just "fire". Generally someone has to pull the trigger.
And, in my humble opinion, that's not "accidental", it's "negligent".
In this case, a negligent parent left a loaded firearm unsecured in the presence of untrained children.
Reckless endangerment anyone???
