brandon - that's kinda what I was wondering. I'm Orthodox, and my wife was (until her recent conversion) a godless heathen (i.e. a Protestant... lol.) So we have two wedding anniversaries... shit, #5 is this Saturday, I gotta go get her a present... and two weeks after that for our real wedding in the Orthodox Church.
So Breda, I have time to listen to (read) a long story :)
Madam Breda: How very wonderful for you. People that do not stay married a long time miss one of the most wonderful experiences in human existence. I have 29 years married to my wife. It seems like yesterday when I met her.
Congrats!!! My wife and I have had 14 great years and counting . . . Now for a story.
A very good friend of mine has been married since 1996 (hint) yet has only celebrated three anniversaries. The wedding took place in Vegas with an Elvis impersonator. FWIW, everyone was stone-cold sober during the ceremony.
I cheated. Not only is my wedding anniversay 2 days after my birthday, I cleverly arranged (yeah, right) to have the Big Event in 2000, so I can easily figure out which one it is by looking at the year.
(Word Verifaction - pncaaka - why I am not having pankaces for breakfast again)
Be polite, please. (also I'd like to add that I reserve the right to delete any and all comments that I find offensive, argumentative, or just plain tiresome.)

Happy Anniversary! :-)

Don't DO that!
ReplyDeleteIf you're gonna start out with "It's a long story," you're kinda obligated to tell a story, even if you roll out the cliche "Long story short."
I mean. Really!
But... congratulations and many happy returns of the day. It only gets sweeter.
