Incredibly stupid! Look at that selection of firearms! I wouldn't wish those models on my worse enemies. A pistol grip shotgun? Some Tec 9 thing, and an AR? Get a clue and then some decent shooting iron, parents of cute little girls. Get a nice Remngton 870 WITH a stock, a 1911, and a M1A. INTELLIGENT choices, them.
Jovian Thunderbolt beat me to it, kinda. I have no issue with the AR per se, simply with the ridiculous scope mounted on it. Way too much glass for a mid-range semi-auto rifle. Beyond that, his argument and mine are the same. Raise those little girls with taste and class. ;-)

I'm all for the right to keep and bear arms, but this seems a bit irresponsible. Real guns are not children's toys nor children's props for amusing photos. They are tools for defense and protection, hunting and ADULT recreation.
Do I think this picture is idiotic and stupid? Not really. I'm not under the impression that a child will burst into flames if they touch a firearm. I'm sure that all the precautions were taken to ensure these kids' safety. I just fear that, until they are old enough to understand gun safety and the consequences of accidental fire, taking cutesy, novel pictures can only serve to harbor them into a dangerous comfortableness with a tool they don't have the capacity to understand.
It's my opinion (yes "opinion") that children should have a healthy fear of guns until they are of the age when they can respect them. What age is that? Obviously, it's up to the parents to decide. But the wee gal in the middle? Really? She wouldn't know danger if it rolled up in a white van with painted windows and offered her laffy taffy and a balloon. Am I equating guns to pedophiles? No, I'm just trying to illustrate how a child's ability to understand cause and effect should be a factor in deciding when parents decide they are old enough to handle a weapon. Even if mommy and daddy are present.
Cute picture, but I think the good trigger discipline might be cause their fingers don't reach...
So long as just before/as they were handed the guns they were checked/shown they were clear and the kids know they ain't toys etc can't see a problem with it :-)

I suppose these girls should have had a healthy fear. If she had been taught a healthy fear instead of respect, Samantha probably wouldn't have accomplished this.
