Ray Stevenson, who played the sexy beast Titus Pullo in the HBO series Rome, has the lead role in the next Punisher film, due out this year.
Hmm...Gerard Butler of 300, Ray Stevenson of Rome...I'm noticing a new trend in leading men. Gone are the days of waifish, androgynous boys...hooray! Bring on the big, hunky (Celtic-looking) men!
Hey, we all have our preferences, right?

My wife always says she would rather see homely men than pretty boys.
I'm all for "big ugly lug with buzzcut" becoming t3h n3w h4wt...:)
Absolutely. . those Calvin Kelin model types with wavy hair and concave abs do nothing for me. ICK. Give me a blue eyed Celt any day, with enough meat on his bones to sling me over his shoulder and carry me off (AND tote the ammo bag. . that suckers heavy)
i agree with every sentiment already posted. gimme big, gruff looking men for my action heroes, kthx.
He he he....
The bigger the better. *rowr*
I'll be in my bunk.
Clive Owen, Gerard Butler, shoot even Liam Neeson is still looking pretty dahm good. I'll take a dose of each and don't call until me Friday.
Be still my heart. Here's to a big beast of a man. I have no ideer what that film's about, but I'll tell you one thing - I'll be there on opening day. Let's just say I still have episode 6 of season one of Rome in holding pattern on my DVR. (That's the one that featured Titus Pullo's romp with Cleopatra). *meow* I have to say my brain turns to mush and actually, I've gotta stop before I really embarrass myself by totally misting over. But, um, yeah, let's celebrate and encourage this trend.
BTW - Dear Frankie w/ Gerard Butler is an incredible movie, too.
Phlegmmy - I loved Dear Frankie! have you seen P.S. I Love You yet? Or One More Kiss?
Also, I've been searching youtube for that scene from Rome, but alas... =(
...I like a man I can climb...
No, I haven't seen those films-- will look them up. Dear Frankie was marvelous.
As for that scene in Rome - that was the ONE show a week I was watching at the time, and my mother-in-law happened to be over that very night. So there I was watching that with spouse and mother-in-law (very uptight, both) in the room and I thought "by jingo, this train ain't stoppin' fer nuthin'!" I was Casey Jones, bogarting the remote. I didn't care if the Pope himself was in the room, that scene would be watched and watched forthwith. I've only watched that episode again about, oh, 10 or 12 times. Er, maybe 14. Who's counting?
Okay as he only guy here, and a red blooded hetero one at that, let's just say I'm happy he's wearing Royal Marines gear:-)
