news that isn't

Gentlemen, please file this under: "ridiculously obvious" - if you want to get laid, clean the bedroom.

Duh.

Let me explain…no, there is too much. Let me sum up. (h/t)
Less mess = less stress = more sex.

Works both ways.

Ladies, if you want to get your oil changed, put out.

Doesn't sound good phrased that way, does it?

Sounds ok to me! Win-win!

Of course it helps if all the guy is wearing is an apron, right?

Indeed, Bob!

Let's put it this way:

Messy house = stressy woman,

stressy woman does not = sexy woman.

So...

less messy = less stressy = more sexy.

Ta-DA!

I have lived alone most of my adult life. My girlfriend has not (married twice) and she still doesn't understand why I do a lot of the housework(besides the fact she is disabled and it hurts her to do a lot of it). Hey, when I lived alone, if I didn't do my laundry and clean the dishes and the bathtub, it didn't get done at all. And clean is a good thing!

I have a female friend whose philosophy has been, "all I ask is that you take out the trash and change the oil in my car."

Breda, I agree with your math, but you're making my brain hurt!

funny, and very true!

My initial thought before reading the article was of a single guy bringing a woman home, pushing dirty laundry off the couch, then trying to get frisky.

If it's "she'll feel sexier if the house is clean", OK. If it is "I'll do a chore I'd rather skip if you do a chore you'd rather skip", theres a serious problem somewhere.

I don't have that problem. But my idea of a pick-up line is, "IF YOU STRUGGLE YOU WILL ONLY MAKE IT HARDER!" done with an Austrian accent.

How can they see how messy it is with that blindfold on, anyway?

Ah, and I was thinking it was age that was the problem - come to think of it - that is the problem, I was a soldier so long I don't understand dirt, clutter nor messiness... but Hugh Hefner has four blonde bubble heads (but then he always has been wired wrong). Ah, well the death of better America - Sex, Easy, Free!!! three bad, bad words.

So, aside from doing all the cooking- I'm supposed to clean up, too?

breda said...

no, Kurt - I think that qualifies.

Sounds like feminist propaganda to me. I'm doing almost all the housework right now, and I'm not getting any. Granted, there are extenuating circumstances...like a wife with a broken leg.

Really, we've worked out a division of labor that pretty much works for us.

I think that's what matters, Jeffrey - if it works for you.

But I think the point might be being missed here - it's not about bartering at all. It's about not trading one service for another. It's about how many women might have a hard time relaxing and getting "in the mood" if there's dirty laundry and dishes piled up.

Also, if sex is viewed as a service to be bartered, well...that's a problem that's not likely to be fixed with a little housework anyway.
