Guns & the City

Women learning to shoot at the only range in Manhattan. In heels.

I now want a rifle.

You don't have a rifle? Go get one!!! Even a cheap dirty old milsurp rifle. Everyone should have a good rifle!

Check out the slug provided by slatev.com:

"Follow Samantha Henig on her journeys into vice subcultures. In this episode, Henig visits a shooting range in the unlikeliest of places."

In Manhattan, we're a "vice subculture".

I raised an eyebrow at that line, too, turk!

Anyway. I'm glad the sisters happened to be represetin' when the cameras showed up. Now they know what they've been missing!

And I loved the "best date ever" couple. Cute!

A .22 rifle for plinking, a Winchester or Marlin .30-30 for light hunting/home defense. Don't start off with a military rifle, they typically are heavy and chamber large cartridges that kick hard. Find a nice used Winchester '94 (no longer made new, unfortunately) and give it a happy home. They typically run less than $500 if you don't get a commemorative.

Yes, a "vice" as in "immoral", you see.

A few million on the concrete island and only one shooting range: still too much for the disarmers to handle.

Rifles are good, .223 is a fun caliber, and collapsible stocks fit chicks. Plus there's all the rail-bling you can add.

They were firing Ruger 10/22s in the film, it's a good plinker.

No rifle? What a wonderful opportunity! A new world beckons!

Firearm virginity! It's a wonderful situation to be in!

Hum, not just a rifle, but rifle with rifle shooting course - and don't go in high heels and or clothes for dancing wildly. Think combat, any camo that you think would fit. Rifle and rifle shooting course -- too cool to get so good.

Those women, save the date couple, were wandering without men - doesn't seem healthy to me...

Shooting a rifle is my very favourite way of shooting! As a rule, I prefer 22's all around.. but I know many who prefer the big bullets who still get great joy from a little 22 rifle.

I'm also not ashamed to admit that I've used a rifle (and a handgun, and a shotgun) in high heels and a miniskirt before. Not a single thing wrong with that, mmhhm.

By all means, go buy a rifle. The Winchester 190 .22 is a sweet little plinker and costs under $100.

I'm trying to encourage everyone to go buy a gun or gun accessory immediately after SCOTUS rules on Heller.
