but I want it NOW!

Since the same friend who introduced me to the wonderful Whedonverse suggested it, and most of the blogs I read reference it, I recently decided to give in to Battlestar Galactica.

So now I'm completely addicted and am watching the DVDs like a fiend...but I also have a problem. I have finished all of season 2 and am currently 68th on the library request list for season 3.

68th!! Knowing how slow things move around here, this means I'll probably watching it in the fall of 2009 - and I can't move myself up to the top of the list without getting in trouble. I have considered deleting everyone else's request but that would be totally wrong of me to do. (Damn ethics.) I am also too broke to justify going out and buying it. Besides, who starts buying a television series on the third season? I'd have to own all of them, from the very beginning, and that would just get ridiculous.

Crud. Yet another exercise in patience.

Call me old fashioned, but while the new series is good -- I'm still a fan of "Classic Galactica" starring Lorne Greene. Bizarre, huh?

Breda,

send me an email if you'd like to borrow the Season 3 DVD set. Knowing your day job, I'm not too worried about you messing them up or anything.

Marko - you are my HERO. Thank you.

I'll second the Netflix suggestion. It winds up costing me $2/disk, approx $15/month. It's a whole lot cheaper than cable, and I'm not tempted to watch a lot of crap I really don't need to watch. Most amazingly, Netflix has never made me angry; terrific service.

But I thought Netflix was $4.00/month.

I totally love Netflix. I disconnected my cable and get all my news now online. I use the TV to watch DVDs. Netflix has several different plans, which you can change as your needs change. Send a DVD back to them on Monday, they get it on Tuesday, and you get another one on Wednesday. They should give me free service, I'v gotten them so many new customers. lol

RE: Netflix prices

it varies depending on the plan...the $15/mo price is for 3 discs at a time, unlimited rental per month...i believe. i can't really recall.

I could always lend you my Ipod. Has all three seasons on it.

If it's anything like the Lost series, you can watch them all on the internet for free, but that might just be an ABC thing.

I could always let you know what happens, if you'd like...

While you are waiting for the Season 3 DVD from Marko, you ought to go to scifi.com and watch the "Resistance" webisodes. There are ten or so of them and they take place between Seasons 2 and 3.

You could also watch the "Razor" movie. Even though it aired after Season 3, it takes place pretty much towards the end of Season 2.

My wife and I have found ourselves similarly addicted to that show, and are now about halfway through season 2. Thank God for Netflix!
