Sir Grills-A-Lot

Every time Mike says, "I like..." and then pauses, I very quickly interrupt with : "big butts and I cannot lie!"

I graduated from high school in 1992, the year Baby Got Back came out. (& no, I did not have mall hair or watch Beverly Hills 90210 or speak in valleygirlese.) A somewhat lascivious hip-hop(? rap?) tribute to curvaceous black women, the lyrics have inexplicably stuck with me all these years.

So this evening, while Mike was cooking bratwurst and toasting rolls on the grill, I said, "Oh, I think I bought the wrong buns. They're too big."

He answered with, "That's okay. I like big buns...and I cannot lie."

It's only taken nine years of marriage - but finally! A breakthrough in the generation gap. It's sweet how he humors me.

I would die laughing if he had said "my anaconda don't want none unless it's got buns hun"

I guess I'll just have to hold out for that one

90210 was pretty cool in it's first couple of seasons. They even used Policy of Truth in one episode!

That and "Funky Cold Medina!"

I grad'd in '95, so...

I have so many memories of listening to my sisters Misfits albums, BlackSabbath stuff, then blacking out to having "TJ Gitano" pants a la MC Hammer and Tone lock records...

RobertaX looks at me strangely when I say "Becky!" after she says "Oh, my God."

1993 for me. My wife had mall hair back then. I never knew there was a name for it, but I'm going to share that knowledge with her soon. Heh.

We sing the Jonathan Coulter version of "Baby Got Back" at work all the time. Because we're geeks.

Err, that would be, "Coulton", not "Coulter". I'm not too sure what happened between my brain and the keyboard there....
