Yay!

The podcast with Caleb, Bonnie (and Tracy, who was such a nice surprise) was so much fun!

Despite my nerves and over-preparation, (seriously? 5 pages of notes. The former honors student, crazed librarian thing kicked in big time. Yikes.) I think I sounded okay and was able to add a little something to the show.

Thank you so much to every single one of you who took the time to listen in and a special thanks to fellow blogger JayG and Joe (one of my treasured readers), who called in with questions. I was informed that this show was the best yet - not only did it have 3 smart and lovely women talking about guns but it also had the most listeners in Gun Nuts:TNG history!

If you missed it, you can still go to the Gun Nuts:TNG website and hear the show (there's even some good stuff that we recorded after we went off the air.) Enjoy!

Sorry I was late. Missed the first 10 minutes, but it was still an awesome podcast.

I submit Kudos unto you.

I thought you sounded great, Breda. I was particularly interested in your account of going back to the range after the first time being a disappointment. I also enjoyed Bonnie's stories of student life in Tennessee. More power to you all. Well done.

Just listening to the recap since we decided to head out and grab some dinner.

Man, you're not kidding about the midwest accent, err, lack of accent!! It was so much fun to finally put a voice to a face and personality...

I got a big kick out of the fact that Caleb also sounds so much like "Homestarrunner" (I like Homestarrunner!!)

Some things that I thought were interesting were:

-The fact that you were concerned about drawing your gun...

-It was interesting to hear Tracy and yourself get disturbed about the boom during your initial exposure - I think this was the worst mistake I've ever made with the wife...

-Oh, BTW, here's the list of OHIO USPSA clubs: http://www.uspsa-area5.org/oh.html

I burned the MP3 of the recording to CD and played it for the wife. We only got through about half of it for our morning commute because we had to stop it for discussion of the issues, we'll finish it later.

GREAT show, and you all did awesome, and Mrs. Weer'd enjoyed it greatly!

Arrrrr

Thanks, I was finishing work and going home when the original broadcast, but listening later didn't take anything away from the content. Only a few million wonderful women left to introduce to the shooting sports (but the men are so far behind in their own journey). Field & Stream has one young (but seriously great) shooting Olympians from Alaska, she was shooting at three - great father. Great show!

Guess who has the most comments about last night's show?

And you were worried that you'd screw up. ;-) Hahaha.

Well my prediction was a 50:50 success. You didn't sound like you do in my head but I did accurately predict what your laugh would sound like.

I'll listen to the rest over lunch.

I missed the 1st 15 minutes, so I'll have to listen again tonight after work.

I really like these podcasts. They're extremely interesting, and I like hearing those of you I haven't met sound like.

I'm still wondering how you wear an IWB holster between the belt and your pants? It seems like it'd flop around. Then again I guess having nice curves provides some support.

Also (yeah, another question) when you OC what holster are you using? One with active retention?

Listened to the podcast afterwards per your link. It's always great to hear the female perspective and see the involvement.

Have found women to be great shots. They have great control, and lack all the testostorone driven mentality.

It's great to see women, my wife included, that realize the importance of protecting yourself from harm.

Years ago my wife was almost abducted and forced into her car in a dark parking lot. Fortunately she had the adrenaline strength (all 5-2 115#s) to break away. Actually wound up under her car(a red '65 Mustang convertible, almost as sexy as she was), before attention caused the perp to run. She had stomped on his foot with her high heels, etc. She was well brusied and clothes torn. This of course was before the days of concealed carry, or any of us worried too much about carrying.

Again, wonderful to see smart women really show their intelligence! Your blog is very enjoyable and always good for a grin.

The "JAK" is a good example of between the belt.

Breda, thanks for taking my question. I hope I didn't put you on the spot too much.

I'm glad you talked about introducing new shooters to firearms. It bothers me that I see from time to time a husband/boyfriend trying to interest his wife/girlfriend in shooting and the first thing they do is have them shoot the latest "ultra magnum thunder boomer". It's no wonder some people are turned off by guns and shooting. Properly introduced most people have a good time.

Well done, Breda!!
