Wow... those comments from the "tolerant" left are pretty intolerant! Shocka!
If some asshat rolled into one of those kids' soccer games and started shooting at the kids, I'm sure most of the libtards would be pretty happy if Ms. Hain could stop them.
But, they don't want her to carry. She couldn't prevent a catastrophe if she wasn't carrying. A vicious circle, no?
This is a strange world we live in! I live in NJ and here we do not have the 'right' to carry, CCW or open, though we are listed, idiotically, as a "May Issue" state. I carry a knife and a flashlight, a multi-tool, a couple bandanna hankies, couple of Band-Aids in my wallet, my cell phone, accoutrements of modern living, "just in case" and yet I must hope for the best should bullets fly.
That poor woman. Nothing worse than the public scrutiny when all should but out! Did enjoy her witty repartee, though!
Even though I've pretty much come to expect it, I'm still amazed at the comments from the "I'm for the second amendment, but..." crowd that blast this poor lady for daring to choose a carry method that differs from theirs, for carrying at all, or for talking about her lawsuit. When are we going to stop offering up our own in a vain attempt to appear reasonable to the antis?
Agreed Barrett. Carrying openly at that particular venue wouldn't have been MY choice but I still support her 100%.
It amazes me that so many gun guys are bashing her. They can argue semantics, but when it comes down to it she did something that was well within her rights and was punished for doing so.
Isn't a CCW a piece of property? She paid for the license with her time and money. The sheriff abused his authority and took that property from her. She got it returned to her in a court of law, and now the Sheriff should suffer the consequences of his actions.
Man I wish she sounded this good on Fox news last week. She was on national tv, prime target of opportunity and didn't say two sentences. Even Fox and Freinds came off sounding like she was a loon.
As I told Ahab "a word to pro-gun pundits, you may not agree with her tactics (lump me in there) just get behind her and the willingness to exercise her right". Because the media are using statements made by "gun experts" that she being reckless with her OPEN carry.
Just so's we're clear... I fully support her right to open carry and her right to recover her property and to paste the sheriff. I'm not blasting her, though others may.
I am tired of people who say they are strong supporters of the 2A yet they say she had no "need" to carry OC at a kids soccer event.
Need has nothing to do with it. By that factor most CCW is not needed since they are not assaulted usually. The probability of assault are minimal yet if so the risk is immense.
People who carry hope that they do not need to use a gun. IT is there in case a worst case scene happens. OC is just another way to carry.
This posting is exactly why I read the popular gun blogs. You guys keep us updated on the incredible BS that occurs when someone exercises a constitutional right.
This just shows how much work is left to be done, and how we have to continue to stand firm.
Keep up the great work, and thanks for letting us know about this lady.

Interesting read, and just the tip of the iceberg I'm afraid...
wv- indeed
We should invite this lady to call in to the Gun Nuts radio show and the IRC channel.

Yup.
Gotta love the comments on that link.
The comments are kind of amusing. In the same way that I'm amused by watching a bunch of primates fling feces at each other in the zoo.

I felt more comfortable about my children's going to a regular church event when I knew that several of the parents were armed.
Funny old world, ain't it.
Although, I still think it's better to carry concealed than to carry openly. Don't want to let the bad guys know whom to shoot first...

and yes, the "tolerant" left is at it again. It's sad that they pretend to have any moral highground whatsoever.

I, personally, just like to fly under the radar.
