The Punisher

Oh my gosh, I almost forgot! I have been waiting for this movie to come out, and it opened last week!

I haven't read the comic books and I don't even care that the movie probably isn't very good. It stars Ray Stevenson, and that is plenty good enough for me.

107 minutes of Titus Pullo. With guns.

Mmm, Titus Pullo...

You have the seen HBO/BBC series Rome, haven't you?
Because, hello? Titus Pullo.

I actually thought Thomas Jane did a good job in the 1st Punisher.

Hopefully this one is as good as the 1st (not to say the 1st one was great)

I didn't recognize Titus but now I'm more hopeful for the movie.

the first TWO where really disappointing.

Dolf Lungrun(sp) did a Punisher movie back in the 90s (IIRC) that was very craptastic.

I've still got my comics somewhere.

I know you hate glocks but this link is to good to pass up.

But Rome is working its way up my netflix queue.

I actually thought that the first, actual first, Punisher with Dolph Lundgren was the best.

Admittedly, I have not seen the newest one.

Yes! Rome was/is amazing. I too am without cable watched the episodes on DVD and online. My heart melted for Agrippa (Allen Leech) the second season.

on certain forums it's the new favorite movie and is referred to as "Reloading: The Movie" in a good way

I've watched Rome on DVD (don't get TV where I live and too cheap to spend $60 a month on satellite when I'm only home about two months of the year) about a dozen times.

As an avid student of Roman history I am all too aware of where they stray from history (I have endlessly detailed anal discussion with my other history geek friends about when Julia really died or who actually said or wrote what or how the timeline has been adjusted for dramatic effect). On the other hand, I don't think anything previously has so excellently captured the daily details of life in Rome for the upper and lower classes.

Amazing production.

On the other end of the spectrum that's exactly why I've watched Underworld & Underworld 2 so many times.

Guns + Eye candy can make a so-so movie pretty good.

Tell me how it is, would you? I probably won't see it in theatres, since I'm a little disappointed that they didn't continue the story from the Punisher reboot.
