“This will be the most important piece of social legislation since Social Security passed in the 1930s,” said Obama, standing with Vice President Joe Biden in the State Room of the White House.
For your information, Barry, Social Security will be bankrupt by next year. They're predicting that there might be a few years of surplus before things go bad in 2016. Really bad. 19 billion dollars in deficits over the next decade.

How much money have the American people been forced to pay into this Ponzi scheme? Billions? Trillions? Only to have it collapse, but not before creating massive debt and a greater dependence on government.

Social Security began as a feel-good, "let's make sure everyone is taken care of" kind of plan but ended up a failure and an abomination. It was the beginning of the end of liberty.

And yet here we are again almost a century later, on the brink of being further enslaved by those who are insane or evil enough to insist it's for the common good.

This is the end of the end, and it's not going to be pretty.

Even worse, that so called surplus wasn't. It's just money that went into the general fund while Congresses borrowed even more money. The reality is that any claimed SS surplus is just another phony accounting trick that would put anyone else in jail.

Tar and feathers, heads on pikes. That's what it took in 1776.

Mike over at Sipsey Street Irregulars feels the same way. And, for what it's worth, I agree.

Next year things are gonna get ugly.

It's gonna be such a shame when those gov't types have to euthanize all those Baby Boomers just to keep our financial head above water.

Breda,

First of all, Merry Christmas!

Now, having said that, isn't it about time you and Mike pick out your rifles and get moving on putting together the kit for them?

Next year may be too late, or too busy to do it.
