full circle

There are events that, when looked upon through the scope of history, seem miraculous and yet somehow inevitable.

The special election this past Tuesday seems to be one of those cases. Now, don't get me wrong - I fully realize that this is politics and that Scott Brown is just another cog in a very crooked wheel but the Tea Party parallels are just so...sublime that if I was a more religious person I'd be tempted to credit divine intervention.

Imagine...an assumed underdog is propelled to victory over an entrenched superpower by a grassroots movement enraged at being overtaxed by a government that isn't listening.

In Massachusetts.

Again.

It always seems to be about the taxes, doesn't it.

I just knew you were talking about my new REPUBLICAN Senator Scott Brown when I saw the title...

Boy, I like saying that...

And they managed to do it with the Liberal MSM openly calling for the Democrats to cheat!

Now go back and re-read the first couple of paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence. It'll make the hair on the back of your neck stand up.

I gotta find myself a tea party rally to go to. This thing's just getting started!

It is indeed just getting started...and that is a good thing.

The good people of Massachusetts have stood up and chosen to not step meekly into the comforting chains of slavery.

Awesome!! It is time "We the People" started taking our country back from the elitist, snobborish, a$$hats we currently have. Hopefully the Kalifornistanians well boot Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstien to the curb and if Nevada does not kick Reid out of office after what Mass did in electing a REPUBLICAN!! I mean come on!!

I must admit, this is one of the [few] things I agree with Obama on.. despite the Red Team guffaws, I do think what got Brown in office is the same sense of frustrated will you listen now??? that got Obama's own sorry tuckuss sat down in the Big Chair.

I do expect 2010 will strongly resemble 1994.

While I hope (heh) we'll see some of the systemic housecleaning we were promised way back when... I can't say I'm optimistic that Congress would follow through on the enough with the spending games, the bickering for the cameras while partying together on our dime after hours, the backroom deals and open bribes, the vote trading for public appearances, etc until the place is literally burning down around their ears. And maybe not even then.
