3/17, protips

It's spelled "Paddy", not "Patty."

Your attire should be more like this:

and a little less like this:

The phrase "Erin go bragh" has nothing to do with women's undergarments, and if the beverage you're drinking with your corned beef and cabbage looks like this...

...may the cat eat you and the Devil eat the cat. (traditional Irish curse. Yes, really.)

Stay safe everyone, and have a happy St. Patrick's Day.

I went around last year correcting "Patty", thanks for doing it this year. =)

An Irish lady (born and raised there) I knew some years back told me that no self-respecting Irishman would even think of drinking green beer.
That middle photo looks like the person misunderstood when someone told him that leprechauns were members of the faerie folk.

Isn't that because his name was actually Padraic? Which would make the Latin transliteration into Patty?

All I know is, the building managers handed out free mint Oreo blizzards in the lobby this afternoon. God bless the Irish.

If you can see through your beer well enough to read a newspaper, it isn't nearly dark enough. I have nothing against Guinness, but tonight I'll be hoisting a Smithwick's- a little easier on my palette, and made by the same folks.

I'm Irish, but I don't like Guinness.

Oh, well, 'twere me great-grand-daddy what left Dublin back around 1880ish.

Always thought he came here to make a better life for himself.

Maybe he actually left to find a beer he liked better?

Harp Lager, and a bit of corned beef, cabbage and redskins.

I was ready with my usual answer if someone tried to pinch me this year:

"You're not wearing any green!"

"Yes I am."

"Where?"

"The grips on my concealed pistol. Now keep your hands to yourself."

You have a picture of green beer, but no picture of Guinness. Something is wrong.

Though I do think the green face paint adds "something." A look of insanity maybe.

A picture of a Guinness. A proper Irish drink. Unless you prefer Jameson of course.

You do understand that in this context, I am obliged to tease you a little on account of the green shirt you're wearing in your photo on your sidebar? :)

and here I used to help them drain those kegs of green Budweiser or PBR after the great day. Never did come out green the other way, my liver did it's job no matter how much I abused it....

Breda,
In honor of you, I drank a Guiness with my Jameson. Smithwick's (proper pronunciation of course) is also yummy, but I didn't have any.
