I'm so excited. JayG is coming to visit! And in his honor, our mutual friend Heath and I are planning a little food & shooty shindig for Saturday, October 9th.
Since we're holding it at an undisclosed location, it's an RSVP only event. We'll make sure to send you directions once you've cleared the background check. I'm kidding, of course - you'll only be required to sign a waiver. In blood. After performing the secret handshake.
Anyway, we're doing the meat and some sides, but if you're coming we'd really appreciate it if you could bring something to share - your favorite potluck dish or something to drink.
So if you'd like to come and hang out with us for a day, email me! (Hurry! I need a headcount!)

She's not kidding about the secret handshake. Or the blood. Eat lots of red meat - you'll need the iron...
*sniff* I wanna come but I can't!!!
Calender cleared, and since I'm local, I'll help with the Logistics. e-Mail on the way.
E-mail sent, but I'm dumb and didn't include the correct subject line.
Also, isn't it wicked cold in Northern Ohio in October?
So, is this up near Cleveland, then?
I'd dearly love to come see my blog-father and everyone else, but I'm 5 hours away and that's more than I can day-trip, unfortunately.
MikeW, wear a jacket.
Les, glad you're coming! I hoped you would.
everyone else, we'll miss you!
Definitely maybe.
Just a reminder for anybody coming from out of state, Magazines over 30 rounds are no go in OH.
Gotta check with the Sarge...
Is Jay bringing his pet hat?
Excellent!
I'm going to need more ammo!
Mad Saint Jack,
You can HAVE them, you just can't insert them in the firearm.
They don't cause problems until you put them together so that they become a firearm that can fire more than 31 rounds without a reload.
I would LOVE to get there, but I don't think it is going to happen.
2 hrs 56 min and 173.42 miles one way city to city before adding in any local maneuvering on either end.
Basically east on US 30 to I-71 then north on I-71 till it comes time to fine tune on that end. Not a nicel little Saturday mornign run.

FYI: If you drive up this way, look at www.BuckeyeTraffic.org for all the latest road construction in our neck of the woods. Actually, October tends to be the start of the Muddy Season up here, so don't sweat any snow. Trench Foot, on the other hand... And if Jay forgets it, I have a Spare Ushanka he can wear. However, Liberal Politician Removal Season doesn't begin until Nov.2, so out-of state Game tags won't be on sale until then. Sorry, but you'll have to get your Limit then. But if anyone needs to get a Garand from the CMP, check out their website. I think Camp Perry will be open that weekend. See you there!
Buckshot,
You are exactly right. Also 22s are exempt.
It just bugs me that it is a law that no one knows about.
It's about a 4 hour drive for me, but I think Jay G is worth it (oh and Breda too.)
Since I can only be there in spirit, I sent my email in spirit too. :)
Thundercats are GO
Dang it, I'll wave as I go by... I'm gonna be on the road. Y'all have fun!
Mad Saint Jack,
We ONLY got full two lane on US 30 about a year and a half ago, and it is still not all limited access and so a lot of it is still 55 mph with all kinds of stuff happening on it.
Are you staying over on one end or the other? I don't have that option, as well as having something I promised to attend Sunday AM! That severely limited (to the point of making it not possible) the trip.
I would LOVE to meet Breda and some of the others, and there are still a couple of things I would love to turn her on to that others have not yet done, but it just won't work out.
Someone see if you can turn her on to a Swedish Mauser and a Mosin-Nagant, would you?
Thanks,
Buckshot
I too will have to be there in spirit. Sorry, but the # daughter's wedding wins this time slot. Definitely want to be there for the next time.
