As another Breda, (yes, I know, you can count us on one hand) I know your pain. The literal pain too. Initialling EVERY correction to our misspelled name in a stack of official papers. And I had 5 initials in my legal name.
Maybe they think that you've misspelled your own name and they're helping you out. Let's see: header, domain name, several addresses, your registered name on posts... yeah, they must all be misspelled.
Or, perhaps, they're just not paying attention and told their spill-chuckers to go ahead and replace all misspelled words.
Or maybe it's a general lack of awareness along with a lack of respect.
*I* know it is Breda, but sometimes my fingers will still type Brenda. My fingers are 'so not cool' except with the window open right now they are quite cool.
And here I always thought unusual names were easier to remember. You have my sympathies; everyone wants to add letters to my name or call me "Jamie" -- or my sister's name "Judy"! I have never understood how anyone mistakes Jeanne for Judy!
Because some people don't READ, they SKIM. Their eyes just glance over the words and these poor readers "soak up" the meaning from -keywords-.
I don't skim because my sentences can have subtle implications. I don't what people to misread my words so I make the effort to not misread the words of others. But it takes longer so I visit less of the net than others.
But it bugs the tar out of me when I, for example, state how I dislike something only to have some yahoo question why I "like" it....?!?

That's a double helping of fail.
Triple. She spelled it wrong it three times.
wow, she gets "Breda" wrong and calls this "The Brenda Fallacies." Double fail indeed!
I don't get how people keep calling you Brenda. The header says "Breda," as does the name under "about me" and the name in your profile.
People are dumb. But hey, at least she tried to include you, right?
I know how you feel though. People get my last name wrong all the time.

It was a triple-fail, so it could be all three.

Meh. Back to work.
Point taken, Rita.
Such a brilliant opportunity to crack wise, and I've got nothing.
Just the same, I'm glad for the reminder to really look at things rather than just assuming.
Jim
Is the Fallacy that you're not named Brenda?
They fixed their link to you.
While we're on the subject, my name is not Tuh-MAIR-uh or Tuh-MAHR-uh.
But I'll roll with the punches as long as you don't call me late for dinner. ;)
I'm going to start a blog called "The Brenda Fallacies," just so I can pick up all the misdirected Breda traffic.
isn't just like a liberal puke?
They know so much better than you.
Even how your name SHOULD be.
There's penalties attached for shoulding upon a nice girl like Breda.
Harsh ones.
Spell-checker or stupidity... you pick it... sigh...

But thats normal..
