let them eat arugula
The first lady was given the opportunity to host a bevy of visiting UN spouses. She took them to a chicken farm and then later gifted them with pickled okra.
For MichelleMarie Antoinette, the hameau was an escape from the regulated life style of Washington the Court at Versailles, into a more simple way of life, while, to the eyes of American French people, a queen who amused herself at being a peasant did not improve her image. (via wikipedia)

You have got to be FREAKING kidding me!
What is with that lady's clothes?
At least she didn't give them arugula; pickled okra are quite tasty.
Hey, is that the seven-foot-tall alien guy from Star Trek at the left? Dang, are they at the UN, too?
OMG Roberta, it IS the guy from Star Trek!
How insulting...
Wonder if any of those U.N. Ladies are sitting there thinking "I finally get to come to the U.S and I'm spending time with this Idiot feeding Chickens when I could be shopping at Saks and Tiffany's? That miserable scumbag of a Husband that I married is SOOO going to owe me!"
That has to be the most offensive first lady yet...
I'm beginning to think this one is FAR worse the Hillary.
I don't know if she quite matches Hillary's nasal stridency.
But she has to know that everybody knows she's a total phony.
Like her hubby!
So...
She fly's to Spain, hangs/has lunch with the higher ups - HORRORS!
She does down to earth/subdued - HORRORS!
Which is it?
Hypocrisy ensues if you demand both.
Did the Secret Service screen the guy in the skirt? Is he lecturing on chicken husbandry? Is she listening?
It buuuuuuuuurns...
Pickled okra is great, but not really much of a gift.....Kind of like dvd collections of his speeches.....El Cheapo comes to mind
Michelle Antoinette? OMG. You are brilliant!
tweaker
I just watched the new Robin Hood movie. In a scene where King John's mother is counselling him, she made a reference to milking a cow dry. John turns to her and says "spare me your barnyard memories. You don't have any and I really don't understand them".
I thought of that when I saw this pic.
