Huh. Taqiyya. I didn't know there was a word for it.

My Anti-Terrorist memories go back to the overthrowing of the Shah of Persia in the '70s and the Lebanese Bombings in 1983. The IslamoFascists were after the U.S. long before Usama Bin Lama did his raid on 9/11, and they'll keep on doing it long after the WTC comes back, unless we get some Leaders who are willing to excise this Cancer from the Human Race Permanently, instead of try to "Reach Out and start a Dialogue" with Baby Killers and their Government Backers.

I have read the Qu'ran caver to cover. This guy is an optimist...

Sigh... Gotta agree with Marty. You REALLY need to study the enemy not depend on 30 sound bites from the lame stream media...

Can anyone recommend a good version of a translation of the Qu'ran into English?

Nancy, I have an English and Arabic side-by-side translation of the Quran, but it's on my desk at work. I can let you know Monday.

Having done a post or two about the "mythical moderate muslim", a few years back, I used the following for some the the notes I reference at the end of the posts.

http://web.archive.org/web/20070829072640/www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/

They provide three different responses to each passage of the Q'aran.

Here is another spot which has multiple links to other references, should you care to dig deeper into the laws and such as related to the muslim world.

I have no stock or vested interest in either site listed above. But have found some interesting "source" material at the first one.

Thanks for posting this, Breda.
I shamelessly "borrowed" it!

Nancy,

The book I have (which was given to me as a reference for my job, I didn't buy it) is available from the publisher at http://www.thebook.org. It's hefty, but it was the side-by-side transliteration and footnotes in English.
