by the book

I'll concede that the old book smell is an interesting odor that conjures up memories of quaint little bookstores and discoveries of arcane knowledge between the pages of some secondhand tome...but it is not sexy and should not be worn by a person.

A librarian fetish should be limited to pencil skirts and shushing. Foxing is not foxy.

And ferris oxide is NOT something you want to be breathing either...

Horned rimmed glasses on a chain and a short sweater for those drafty libraries. Scuse me, I'll be in my bunk.

When I was a kid I would sometimes read books based solely on how they smelled. "The Moffats" was especially good for that.

Next it will be a "new car smell" perfume to attract gearheads.

Why do I think of wet wool, mildew and a bit of eau de homeless?

Of course the expansion of the fragrance line is limitless. Gun range isn't bad. LubeStop less attractive. Fast food dumpster won't sell.

My librarian fetish involves a woman who knows something about seemingly everything (and not just one who THINKS she does).
A woman who knows the dimmest-lit and least-frequented areas of study.
Pencil skirts are nice, as is anything that shows a bit of leg without being trashy.

Ferris oxide is what happen when amusement park rides rust. :)

As for the smell of old books, it's a very happy scent for me.
