"When we too are armed and trained, we can convince men that we have hands, feet, and a heart like yours; and although we may be delicate and soft, some men who are delicate are also strong; and others, coarse and harsh, are cowards. Women have not yet realized this, for if they should decide to do so, they would be able to fight you until death; and to prove that I speak the truth, amongst so many women, I will be the first to act, setting an example for them to follow."—Veronica Franco, 16th century Venetian poet and courtesan

That sounds like something a woman (or man, for that matter) should believe in, not this crap they call feminism these days.
A prime example of the "progress" the "progressive" feminist movement has made.
I'll take Franco's brand of feminism over contemporary faux-feminism anyday.
Contemporary progressive feminism isn't about feminism, it's about marxism.
It progressed over to the Left where "progressives" still preach about antiquated and debunked 19th Century ideas, under a self-satisfying banner that doesn't accurately describe anything about them.
Sounds like my kind of lady.
that's not a proto-feminist - that's a true feminist. one unrelated to the current variety
