bitch, please.

Kathleen Parker, on the "new* hard-core woman":
She really can do it all, and there's nothing left to whine about. This is precisely why she's so annoying. Polly Perfect in a Pinafore has only changed outfits and carries a concealed weapon instead of a lace hankie, though she probably has one of those, too. Being both feminine and tough is the latest girly wile.
Dang...girl's got some serious issues. Just sayin'.

*New? Seriously? Women have been badasses throughout history - it's just that now more of us have the opportunity.

The Mrs. is "feminine and tough". I wouldn't want it - couldn't imagine it - any other way.

I bet she also wonders why all the good men are taken...

Just another example of how contemporary feminism has never been about "real women" or about empowering women.

I'm just glad some women get it :)

Mike beat me to it... Women choose to empower themselves, and have throughout history as you pointed out! As for Parker, just look who she works for...

Another Beltway Leftie whining about how after 50 years of Indoctrination, Women are telling them to Shove their Commie Agenda. Guess they must be trembling in their Dr. Maartens with the idea that the First Female President will be someone like Palin or Bachman or Brewer. Wonder if this Parker "Person" and her buddies are starting to feel like Mubarek or Qhaddifi? Time's Up.

Once upon a time I thought Kathleen Parker might have been one of them. But once Sarah Palin came on the scene, that illusion was handily demolished. "That One." I mean, really, how much more puerile and catty could KP have gotten? Never mind issues...girl's got a blasted subscription. Lol

KP belongs on KP duty.

I grew up reading Kathy's columns and used to respect her. That ended when she agreed to sit next to Elliot Spitzer to make a buck.

Madame Curry could not be reached for comment. She was too busy messing around with dangerous radioactive stuff and winning a couple of Nobel Prizes (real ones like Physics and Chemistry, not this "Peace Prize" nonsense that people get for being "Not George Bush").

She says it like it's a bad thing. badass women are not a new thing. And certainly not a bad thing.

Wow, her entire column sounded just a little bitter.

Who knew that the logical end to women's lib would be strong, independent, girly women? Heaven forbid!

Andy, that's just the website I was thinking of. Specifically, this story: http://www.badassoftheweek.com/koepcke.html

The following is my paraphrase of my wife's comment on the editorial (fyi, my wife is a psychologist):

"The tone is very sarcastic which she uses to disguise her fear. She probably fears that women are turning into men. Specifically, not only would women have to do it all (marriage, children, career) but on top of that shoot well, fight hard and not be able to talk about what ails them, just like men aren't supposed to. That author is afraid she's being asked too much."

My wife's final comment on that was: "she's just wrong".

KP jumped the shark when she went public with her Palin Derangement Syndrome.

Seriously, you know you have to have some issues after playing second fiddle to Client No.9 for over a month.
