not the sharpest #2

"I wouldn't feel safe myself walking around here," David Tomac, a junior at Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, said about allowing the carrying of concealed weapons on college campuses.

"Because you (wouldn't) know who may be carrying a concealed weapon, so I would probably stop attending this university if that were to happen."
Uh, David? If that's how you feel, you may want to avoid the grocery store, too. I might have to go shopping later this evening. Just sayin'.

Wow, just wow! Of course you wouldn't know, since concealed by definition means you can't see it.

And hell, his statement applies everywhere, including places that ban guns outright.

I guess this explains why he's a student at a community college...

-Especially- "places that ban guns outright". Any self maximizing deviant will want a place (mostly) filled with bubble heads thinking they're "safe" because of "ban"s on weapons. But hey, I'm just a former community college student (and newspaper editor; -2- strikes!) :) -Boyd

Sounds like he's not smart enough to even be in college! Idiot!

I cry for the future of our country. . . .

our country survived Clinton, just about every Jackass back to Truman. Our country will survive Obama. It might even manage to survive the morons who voted for him.

Best if the kid did stop attending. You don't need a degree to sling dope or fries anyway.

Y'know, I think we've overlooked something here.

Maybe Mr. Tomac is an advocate of Open Carry. It would seem to alleviate his main concern.....

Mike W. : As My Wife and I are Proud Alumni of that Community College, I am Offended that you would take Offense to all the fine students who attend that bastion.......okay, I can't keep a Straight Face. Funny how the Lakeland Police Dept. ( a Community College with it's own Police Force? Why, Yes Virginia...) puts on a Military Collectors Show every year. Happened last weekend, and Guess What? There were GUNS there, right in the Gym! Oh, and by the way, how can one be a Junior at Lakeland when it's a 2 year School, unless he's in one of those weird Cleveland State off-Campus Programs. P.S.: As open as Lakeland is (doors open at 6:00 a.m., shut at 11:00 p.m., no security at any entrance at all), I'm willing to bet there are a few CCW holders and Staff Members who are armed on that Campus. Not naming any names, Mr. Tomac, but did you ever have a class with.....

I'm a student at a community college...And the school paper's official editorial position is that concealed carry should not be allowed on campus because students would be consumed with worry about who was carrying and thus be unable to learn. Meanwhile, we get Campus Crime Alerts on at least a monthly basis, no few of them for armed robberies.

I carried a four-inch Smith & Wesson Model 66 .357 Magnum in my backpack everyday I attended college back in the early 80's after I discharged from the military.

Nobody ever knew.

We're within whistling distance here in Texas of passing concealed carry on campus, and as predicted, the academic morons (how I love intentional oxymorons. . .) are about ready to faint dead away.

Image what open-carry would do to them?

Meanwhile, the drug cartels have declared that they are going to start shooting and killing our Texas Rangers.

Our response?

Bring it on, Mexico. Bring it on.

Using the framing techniques of the MSM, I think an appropriate title would be, "Lakeland student advocates open carry on campus."

Lemme get this straight. People feel less safe knowing that law-abiding citizens have guns near them but more safe not knowing what criminals around them have guns?

Disconnect.
