Of course, when the Irish can get the same number of people to celebrate the Hungarian Holiday of St. Stephen's Day on a world-wide basis, then I might join you in celebration. You know, the holiday that celebrates the conversion of the Magyars to Christianity in the year 1,000 A.D.? Never heard of it, you say? Funny, you all have enough Hang Overs from it every New Years Day! "So now you know the REST of the story...."

My daughter insisted I wear my green vest today.

Over my purple shirt, which she also insisted I wear.

I look like a leprechaun pimp...

I wanted to just have a bunch of money hanging out of my pockets and let that be my "green."

Unfortunately, Mr. Hope & Change has only left us with the the change, which isn't even shiny coins anymore.

Besides, do you have any idea how hard it is to scotch-tape a nickel to your cuffs and get it to stay there?

I may end up getting pinched a lot today--but it can't be any worse than how bad my wallet has been getting pinched by the government. . and on a daily basis.

Just found this: http://www.dianeduane.com/outofambit/2011/03/17/an-ode-to-a-certain-irish-airline/

Modernized irish classic about airline fees.

Not safe for work, I think.

So, if most of the rest of us are going to get pinched, will I get punched instead for wearing the swatch of sky blue and orange?

Every year, I wear my green sweater with an orange ribbon on it. Green as I am Irish ( with the red hair and a name like Maura, I damn well better be ), and orange for those in Occupied Ireland. Wearing orange shows you support Irish Republicanism, or reunification of the 32 counties that make up Ireland. Tiocfaidh ár lá.

I found myself wondering yesterday which holiday puts more drunks in the streets of Broad Ripple that wouldn't know a rosary if you garroted them with one: 3/17 or 5/5?
