doubleplusgood!

Check out the doublestack Thunder 380 Plus! 15 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber! 16! Whoo hoo!

(But don't tell Megan McCain - she doesn't think we need more than 10 rounds at a time. I'd like to tell her that I don't think she needs so much eyeliner but I think I'll just MYOB because, really? I know as much about makeup as Megan does about guns.)

I'll probably point my wife at that one. Right now she has a problem with recoil control on larger rounds - we're doing strength training to work on that - so this might fit her pretty good.

Plus it's nice a concealable which is always a good thing

Y'know, those little Bersa's manage to stay pretty svelte in the grip while holding lots of lead goodies.

Laura & I fondled the Mini-9 at the Convention & I was surprised how thin the grip felt for a little 9 with 12 rounds in the mag.

With a wimpy round like the .380, you're likely to need all 16 rounds, too . . .

WV: tries - (and fails)

Huh. Sounds like they're updating the Browning BDA-380/Beretta 84.

Interesting indeed!

Seriously, Peter? We're going to have this argument again?

Does the range have this in stock? I would really like to give it a test run.

I have one of those Bersa Thunder .380 Plus's. Very nice gun, well made and very accurate.

As for Peter, if you have good shot placement, why would anyone need more than one, of any caliber?

Edwin - because it's always better when the perp is bleeding out of multiple holes.

I'm partial to the CZ 83 myself but that's a nice Bersa.

+1 to Robin, CZ-83 will cost about the same, very similar design, but 12+1 rather than 15, no magazine disconnect, and no slide-mounted safety. Also the magazine release and the safety are fully ambidextrous.

Also no decocking lever, so if you don't want to carry cocked-and-locked, I'd recommend building a clearing barrel just to be safe when lowering that hammer.

Just perused my 1995 Gun Digest, and the MSRP on Bersa Model 85's and 86's were about $375-$400. But they were all steel frames and only held 13+1 in .380. I'm assuming that this is an upgraded version, correct?

So here's the plan: You get the new Thunder Plus, then give Mom Fallacy your current gun. That way you don't have to worry about getting your single stack magazines mixed up with the double stack ones.

Then you let T-Bolt shoot the new gun, and see how much he whines about it.

Now if only we can get the bill to pass down in Columbus to allow CCW in Bars in Ohio....

i saw that earlier and was tickled to bits...i'd half consider selling my Firestorm in favor of the Plus.

PS: Chris is pointing one of the ladies at work in the direction of Bersa, and he used your blog to show off the gun and its popularity. :)

Is our Favorite Librarian considering updating?

Well, you got to shoot mine last October Breda, The only thing you pointed out was that the grip was wider. I can't remember if you said it was too wide for your hands or not!

I'm guessing not since you shot it wonderfully.

Oh and one thing though for those thinking about getting one... I've been waiting since last September for extra mags to arrive. :-/

Yep, Weer'd Beard, that is the main downside to the CZ 83, that it is a SA/DA action but has no decocker.
