book meme

I was tagged for this meme by Squeaky, but decided to wait until I got home to complete it because I wanted to use one of my own books and, honestly, there were too many choices in the library.

the rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book of 123 pages or more. No cheating!
2. Find page 123.
3. Find the first five sentences.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.

I blog in the (kind of) finished side of the basement where we have a computer desk, a lamp, a cat tower and some (mostly empty) bookshelves. But the bookshelves don't have any actual books on them. On the other side of the basement is my little art studio space. It's a complete mess at the moment but I was able to find some books. I grabbed the biggest one and came up with this:
Its early history is rather obscure and some of the synonyms referred to in this list are not well established as being identical. Cennini supposed it to be a native volcanic earth from Vesuvius. Similar antimony yellows have been found in Babylon tiles dating back to the fifth century B.C.
- from The Artist's Handbook of Materials and Techniques, 5th Ed., by Ralph Mayer

(& I'm tagging Earl, Jeffrey, JayG, Less, and TBolt.)
UPDATE: Twofer!! I got tagged by MattG too! Done and done!

An excellent choice! My other "nearest book" might have been Designing and Painting for the Theater 1975, Picktal - but it wasn't as easy to reach as the Masters book.

I did this and I got from nearest book.

Overgrown toenails extended and flexed, rasping against the wood. Trinity, now what? Could she hide here until someone came to feed the brute?

Now it... no he was pissing in a nearby corner. Jame edged back from the spreading puddle. Did the man have a wine vat for a bladder?

I have accomplished the first four, did identify five prospects but am not the type of fellow to intrude, so they may pick up on it or not, such a failure at being part of a group - I do much better as a slug along the pathway to the garden. Where upon my wife would promptly kill me... ah-h!
