everything's better with bacon.

Even ice cream? An ice cream parlour in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware serves some unusual concoctions including bacon, barbecue sauce, peanut butter & jelly and even flavors with questionable names like "G.I. Love Dirt" and "Viagra." The bacon ice cream gets mixed reviews. I can imagine how the sweet/salty/smoky combination might be delicious - I'd definitely try it. It's probably a lot better than the wasabi ice cream that Coldstone Creamery had out a few seasons ago.

Also - while doing a little research for this post, I discovered that there are entire websites and blogs dedicated to the love people have for bacon.

I remember seeing this in Rehoboth, never did have the urge to try it though.

I'm partial to a little award-winning ice cream farm called woodside farm in Hockessin, Delaware. It's the best ice-cream you'll ever have, and you can sit down and watch the cows while you eat it.

You did see this, right?

Some dudes came up with bacon flavored salt. Personally, I think that's Nobel prize material

Coldstone Creamery! We've got one of those. The chocolate fudge milkshakes are amazing.

Go to any Filipino store- they have all kinds of flavors - avacado, shrimp, etc.

I haven't worked up the courage to try any, but I will.

Next time.

Robb - I am currently hunting for the bacon salt. I think it'd make great stocking stuffers.

rust - if you try any weird flavors, I want a full report!

Flipper Food - We've got a lot of flippers around ChiTown and they have really great food!

Most stores have vanilla that is totally to die for - They import the stuff from the islands and regular vanilla just doesn't compare...

I've never seen shrimp, but avocado is pretty good and tastes, well, sort of sweet, but bland and vegetative, like an avocado would... (I guess the flavor that best describes it is "umami".)

The one flavor that I totally heart (other than vanilla, that is...) is the "Gelatinous Mutant Coconut" (Macapuno) which really is made out of an oddball gelatinous mutant coconut - sweet, coconutty, and all good!

The fruit flavors should be good - Mango, Jackfruit, Lychee (SWEET!!), etc - but I like the tapiocca shakes made with fruit even better.

BTW, speaking of pork products - if you are into bacon/pork and the server is a flipper, ask 'em where the best place to get deep fried "lechon" is. It's usually greasy, deep fried, delicious pork with super crispy skin... Oh man... I'm so hungry...

Need lunch!
