covert operation underway

I'm taking the camera to the library today. I have to be sneaky when taking photos because the reference manager gets a little paranoid - "Why are you taking pictures of the books? what are you doing?"

I fib and tell her it's for my family overseas, that they want to see where I work. I can't very well tell her it's all going to be blog fodder. (my mom doesn't even know about this blog, do you think I'm going to tell my boss?)

Any requests?

after being a patron at that library for 30 years...nothing surprises me.

So many NSFW suggestions running through my head.

3rdPower - either you have an extraordinarily dirty mind or you haven't been to a library in a long long time. ;)

I want to see a photo of the homeless guy who sits at the computer and fiddles with his laptop device.

I wouldn't mind seeing some wierdo with jiggly ropes of snot hanging out of his face enjoying a nice cool swig at the drinking fountain.

It's friday Breda and I'm feeling feisty, hope ya don't mind.

humour my wierd fancy, but could you take a picture from behind your counter looking out over the entrance?

I'm a sucker for nice big library tables where you can spread out the piles of books you're researching/going to read. If you have some of those I'd love to see one!

sadly, david, we don't have tables like those. Small-ish round tables only.

If they ask about he camera again say you are taking pictures of people reading seditious literature so they can be turned over to the proper authoorities when the Revolution comes.

I'm not a long-time enough reader to fully know all the preferences you've chosen to share, so I don't know if this is your gig, but how about a picture of some books that are as good as and in the same style as Pride and Prejudice, but not by Jane Austen?

Failing that, how about a photo of the most attractive light fixture in the place?

A picture of a DVD patron being thrown out of the library for making noise flipping through the DVD's would be nice.

Doubly nice if he or she is in mid air at the time.

Oh yeah, how about a photo of the shelf of doom, the shelf in the workroom that was once organized, but now looks like an earthquake hit office depot?
Failing that one, how about the break area?

I guess I gotta got w/the kaveman on this one. Your post about that *ahem* person had my antennae up as I think I’ve seen the same guy at the library I used to frequent on my lunch hour.
Jus’ wonderin’…

I want to see the thematically organized new book shelves to appreciate Breda's subtle wit.

Your mom doesn't know about this blog? Unless she is seriously diysfunctional, I'd let her know about the charming, intelligent woman you have become!

You are the best judge of this....but I'd make sure you have considered it deeply.
