admission

I've always liked Angelina Jolie. She's never been afraid of being herself (right or wrong) and I've often thought that if she would get out of the madness that is La-la Land and free herself from the clutches of the U.N. she'd become a totally kickass, outspoken supporter of individual rights and liberty.

Seems she's almost there.
(poster from Wanted, due out this summer.)
"Brad and I are not against having a gun in the house, and we do have one. And yes, I’d be able to use it if I had to...."

"...self-defense is important."

In that picture, her forearm is, what? 4 feet long?

That's great and all, but number one why tell anybody about it? Number two her newest movie looks like an advertisement of how not to use a gun, or a sports car for that matter.

The only thing wrong with Ms. Jolie is the taint of Billie Bob Thornton. That don't wash off. Tainted forever. Like green fuzzy beef.

@ john ... I'm sure she was questioned about it directly, considering the movie she's staring in has to do with guns. Sometimes it's just easier to answer the questions. /shrug

I like Angelina, for the same reason you cited Breda.

"Actress Angelina Jolie has banned guns from the sets of her new movie "Wanted" to protect her children from unnecessary violence."

Oh well. Guess the bodyguards, the many, many armed bodyguards that protect her family will just have to use harsh language.

I know people generally think she sounds nutty, but she's makes a lot more sense to me than most film actors in interviews. For being so out-there, she's incredibly down-to-earth, imho.

Something I have noticed over the years, is that Hollyweird is very fond of posing the stars with they're finger on the trigger. In fact, I can't really remember a movie promo shot that wasn't posed that way.

Since Brad and Angie live in the lower edge of the French Quarter, they NEED to have a gun or two in the house. And what about Brad riding his bike in to the lower 9th ward? That woul dhave been fatal before Katrina.

She may be getting there, but right now, I still have her in the "guns for me but not for thee" camp.
