Lucky me.

I just noticed that the list of people I can chat with on Gmail is primarily made up of handsome, intelligent men who have lots of guns.

(and if you don't have Gmail yet, why on earth not?)

Well, I've never fooled any one in believing that I am good looking. But, a few parlor tricks can pass for intelligence in certain circles. As for guns, I'm currently drooling over a .45-70 rifle. BIG BIG BOOM

I can honestly say I don't know what Gmail is.

... and then there's me. :-)

Mike - get yourself on Jabber and you can IM with anyone on Gmail/Gtalk. All the cool kids are doing it, apparently.

Ah. I see. And because you can't gmail chat with me your last 'ugly' guy is finally off your list. And you post this just after I disabled the chat feature, too, because I can't attend to it during the day. I understand.

I'll just sit over here, away from the group checking out the fake wood grain on this reading table. You go on with your conversations with the beautiful people....

Maybe that's because you're an intelligent, vivacious babe who understands and likes guns.

You may quote me on that.

Well, I don't use Gmail because I have my own domain and associated email (mattcaron.net).

Now, as far as this google talk, of which you allude (the Gmail page talk thing is actually Google talk, apparently), and is supported by Pidgin, the multi-protocol client which I use. So, I grabbed mattcaron45, and added it to my work profile. So, I'll be on most of the time.

I have it but I quit chatting when I quit AOL back in the 90's. ;-)

Gmail works OK I guess, but Fastmail is for the true geeks. But, *gasp* it has no chat and costs a few shekels a year. Worth it for the lack of advertising (who likes to be data-probed?) and the archiving features.
