for the guys

I've noticed a fashion trend among male gunnies. It's not the Levi's, the tacticool boots or the loose untucked shirts...it's facial hair. (and I'm a fan.)

There's a wide variety of styles - goatees, moustaches, mutton chops, full beards - all patiently tended and trimmed. So in honor of all your hard work and dedication, I give you...
10 Awesome Things With Mustaches.

Enjoy!

I can't imagine life without m'beard!

The wife said we've been together long enugh that if I shaved it she wouldn't walk out on me...still she notes that such a proposition is ill-advised.

A agree!

I shaved my beard off for my new wife Yolanda, whome I fell madly for. Hold on a sec, as I have to go meet Malcom Reynolds, an old army buddy, and finalize a deal. BRB.

My beard and stache are 21 years old now, they just kind of grew on me over the years and I can't imagine life without them anymore than I can life without fingernails.

Liberals fear the Fu-stache!

That, and some folks don't look right without a facial fur. I'd be one..

And on the flip side, some folks should never go more than a few days without a shave. I fall emphatically in that category.

Hmm. A fashion that I hope will never go out of style, 'cause I look like a (graying) 12-year-old without one.
Fashion or not, I don't believe I'll shave it-or my beard- anytime soon, although most women surveyed seem to hate the beard, at least. (It's a full beard, usually trimmed somewhat neatly, not one of those silly pseudo-beard goatees.)

Hard-won gray, at that! I've had the 'stache for 30 years, minus basic training, even through the Wing Commander who publicly opined that he hated mustaches. When our First Sgt. shaved off his, we gave him a cold shoulder and soldiered on.

I've had the beard in one form of another since my 1st day of Terminal Leave. I'm growing my winter coat now.

dedication?....hardly.

I've got facial hair, but only because I'm too lazy to shave most of the time. Must be a carryover from my college days.

After the military, the untucked short was hard to get used to. But it's much harder to carry concealed without the shirt-tails out. The facial hair just means not shaving as often, tho the haircuts still come fast and regular- can't stand the tickle on my ears after all those years in uniform.

As for the tacticool boots- combat boots just get so damn comfy once they're broken in. Even though my desert boots have a shiny spot worn in the suede from where I habitually hook my foot under my desk.

Huh. That's funny. When I enlisted in the Army I only had to shave every other day.

I've recently decided to go for it and see what I look like with a full beard. I'll grow hair on the bottom half of my head to make up for the worsening sparseness on top.

Never thought of myself as a trend-follower. Am I in on the deal early enough to still be a trend SETTER instead?
