Mike and I will be attending a Tea Party protest this Friday - if you live in the Cleveland area, please join us at 1 Public Square (just opposite Tower City) at noon. Bring cameras and signs - make the lettering large and clear - and prepare yourselves with talking points in case you get interviewed by the press. Learn more and find ideas here, at The Cleveland Tea Party Protest.
Some might wonder why I'm taking the time to do this...the following video should be reason enough for anyone.
And if you're not in the Cleveland area, I urge you to find a local tea party, get involved, and let your voice be heard...we, the people, DO care.

Yes, Breda, but ... are you filing your tax return?
Hope you and mike take a cutout of a big revolver.
What a parody of governance this is: pass the bill...before you have read it.
Remember the Alamo.
Any idea were I can look up a Tea Party in the NYC area? Can't find anything related to the type of Tea Party you're referring to.
CGB, here are the details:
2PM, Saturday Feb. 28th, City Hall Park in Manhattan. Drinks and socializing afterwards. Let's make our voice heard NYC!

God, I hate Fuck Smucher...er, I mean Chuck Schumer...
Breda,
Not familiar with Cleveland, is downtown on the Lake?
You need water for a proper Tea Party, that is why they always specify that the original was held in Boston Harbor.
Why not Cleveland Harbor? They have one, don't they?
Buckshot
At one of these protests, sooner rather than later, some dumbass police force is going to decide to deploy themselves and try out some of the new equipment they have been itching to use. Hope it isn't Cleveland. I'd be ready with plans, cellphones, nail-clips to cut flex-cuffs, (one of the fun things to do is to leave folks in them for the pain of it all) a handkerchief and waterbottle for CS, (don't rub! Just hold a wet rag to your face and let it dissolve), extra car keys left near the car, camera with video function...etc.
In short, be ready.
Re Tea-Party-ness, I had to post this quote from here:
"It’s painful to watch so many smart people adopt this partisan hack as the new patron saint of laissez-faire.
If Rick Santelli wants a real Tea Party worthy of the memory of Samuel Adams, he should demand an end to fiat currency and the Federal Reserve. As it is, he can’t even bring himself to say the free market should be allowed to do its work with the banks so as to flush the rot from the system and start fresh. And this is the guy who’s going to lead a popular revolt against the powers-that-be? Give me a break."
Well that's certainly not the British kind of Tea Party, with biscuits and such.
Not surprisingly no Tea Party in San Francisco - they're too eager to wrap themselves in the Spendulus money they'll get.
Hi Breda,
I just finished listening to the latest GunNuts Radio (archive).
I tend to follow your path as opposed to Ahab's. (Though both at totally acceptable). One thing that bothers me about when we get into a gun rights discussion with an anti-gunner is, We're on the right side, and they are wrong!! A quick glance at our Constitution and Bill of Rights will prove that.
But still, the anti-gunners, all seem to feel that they are walking the "high road".
Buckshot, it's Cleveland.
It's February!
The only water we have here right now is sharp and pointy...note to self, keep an eye out for bans against icicles.
I think a better talking point would be, when I have no job who will pay for your "free" crap?
Or if you have a really big sign
“Whatever you choose to consider, be it an object, an attribute or an action, the law of identity remains the same. A leaf cannot be a stone at the same time, it cannot be all red and all green at the same time, it cannot freeze and burn at the same time. A is A. Or, if you wish it stated in simpler language: You cannot have your cake and eat it, too.
Tom,
See, we TOLD you not to clean up the river, lighting it would have thawed a good section of the lake!
How are you going to boil up AG Holder if you don't have any non-solid water available?
That is what the Tea Party was for, wasn't it, boiling Holder Tea?
Buckshot
Breda,
I'll be going to the St. Louis Tea Party tomorrow with my sister and her husband; we've got signs and cameras and we're fired up! Thanks for the heads up and let's pray that this thing gains some momentum. The only thing slimy porkiticans fear is an angry constituency, so let's let them know how pissed off we are!!!
HankH
Send me pictures. . .
Barkley wants to know when you and Mike are coming back to visit.
