eyepaint

I've always enjoyed the variety of colors and textures of eyeshadow - kind of like art supplies for the face - and even though I only wear maybe one or two neutrals, I have a quite a few pots of eyeshadow cluttering up my vanity drawer.

So this afternoon, I decided to do a bit of spring cleaning...

I found a nice flat tin (I have also done this using empty CD cases and it works just as nicely), made sure it was clean, and set about popping the individual shadow pans out of their plastic containers. This is a delicate procedure involving an X-acto knife, a little gentle prying, and a whispered prayer or two. You can see in the photo how some of the colors didn't make it through surgery completely intact.

I then dabbed a bit of craft glue on the backsides of the pans, lined them up in no particular order, and presto! Convenient and tidy eyeshadow storage - in a way that reminds me of an artist's palette. Perhaps only a quarter of the colors will ever decorate this pale, freckled canvas but they will make me smile nonetheless.

You should save them for Hallowe'en.

You've got brown, tan, olive. Anyone you know who hunts could use those for camouflage face paint.

Wow I thought you were going to heat them in the oven for a kalidascope effect.

Reflectoscope beat me to it, but I'll be more direct. You're lovely, the fair skin and freckles don't need any pinks or purples to "enhance" them.

WV: "bemen"--what I wish the REST of the male population would do...
