As long as I'm giving updates on people I've written about on the blog, I thought you'd like to know that little Rachel is doing very well. She, her mom and her twin brother Jack occasionally visit the library and Mike and I just ran into them at the store the other day.
She has started 1st grade and just got a fancy new "school leg" so she can feel better about wearing skirts and dresses. I'm so excited by this because the girl loves to accessorize...feminine pinks and floral purples, shiny strings of beads with coordinating headbands. Every time I see Rachel, she is like a little fashionista with her jewelry and hats. So now, instead of wearing pants all the time, she has other options.
She's braver than I was at her age.

I believe that the first Rachel post was one of the first posts of yours I ever read.
Lovely to hear she's doing well! Hope she renewed your well-deserved smile :)
Glad to hear she is doing well, and that you have kept in touch.
I'm willing to bet that you're partly responsible for her bravery. :)
"She's braver than I was at her age."
She's got someone to look up to; someone she can aspire to grow up like.
With someone as strong as you showing her the way, how could she not be?
This makes me happy in the eyes.
She's awesome and so are you.
Problems seeing the letters on my keyboard, something keeps getting in my eyes. Ah, yup, folks like you and these are why I do what I do. Bless you, and good night.
God bless you, Breda!
Ditto!! She has a great role model!
Remember what I said to you the first time we met? The story of Rachel was one of the reasons for the opinion I expressed then.
I am certain as I like BRBP's Lawnmower Ale that you had a great deal to do with her success. Bless you for that.
I am so delighted to hear of her positive attitude. Thanks for the update.

A school leg? That is all sorts of awesome - and thank you for being a role model for her!
