Ted & Tony

I have quite a few reservations about Ted Nugent, but I have to admit this is pretty cool.

EVERYONE smiles when they fire full auto.

That's really the only reason I've kept mine. I love seeing the smiles on people that fire a machine gun for the first time.

I thought he was still living in the UP. So now Texas has Chuck Norris AND Ted Nugent. When Chuck gets elected POTUS Ted can be our Secretary of State.

I saw this the first time on Bordains(sp?) show. It just gets better every time I see it.

I can just see him standing before congress "please, call me Nuge."

Gotta love Uncle Ted! Bourdain goes all moonbat at the end with his gun control nonsense, but it's still very much worth watching.

Yet he says, "except for me" and "Curiously satisfying." I think he's hooked.

Bourdain makes a living tryiing new eating experiences that are outside his comfort zone. Hanging with the Nuge and firing full auto weapons is a long way from the New York restaurant scene, but I don't think he's as anti-gun as most of his peers. He may be on the other side on gun issues, but I don't think he's an implacable foe.

Say whatever you will about Ted, I'll give he props for standing by his convictions.

Bourdain strikes me as a "cultural anti-gunner", it's just part of his world. There's an East Coast city liberal package of beliefs they tend to accept en toto without a lot of reflection and gun control is part of it. To be fair, there's a similarly unreflective package of beliefs a lot of folks on the other side just accept as a given as well. =/

As he says, he has no problem with himself, or a guy like Ted, or any of the other folks he was shooting with in that clip (probably) or most anyone he is likely to shoot with in the future having guns.

It's the mythical "dangerous/careless redneck, reactionary, weirdo" that he's against. The trick for him will be to internalize that that's a cultural bogeyman, not a real critter.

I like Uncle Ted. What I wouldn't give to be one of his ranch hands.

He leaves NO doubt about where he stands or what he stands for! :-)

Ted is consistent as the day is long. He hasn't changed a bit since I first heard Cat Scratch Fever in junior high.

Anthony said something that is the flaw in every gun control person's mind.

"I believe in making it harder for people to get guns, except for Ted and me."

Seriously, how can you treat other people differently than you want to be treated yourself?

Bourdain is real and he's an entertainer. Watch his shows around the world and he's game for anything which usually involves fatty meats, strong spirits and mind-expanding accompaniments. He's got to blather about how bad he feels when the gauchos kill a sheep for his feast, but then he finishes up to his elbows in grease, gravy and pisco.

Nugent's greatest service to Bourdain and America was to show the glories of good BBQ and Shiner Bock...especially Shiner Bock.

Not a native TX but thanks to the grace of God a proud transplant since 2005...

Aaahh... Shiner Bock.
There's always at least a twelve-pack of Shiner in my refrigerator. Usually Bock, but sometimes Blonde.
Gotta love the Nuge!

I just love the look on Bourdain's face after firing his first automatic weapon........

Even my anti-gun friends are starting to call him "Uncle Ted", mostly because they have heard me say it so many times that it is starting to seem normal to them. Come to think of it, they aren't quite so anti-gun as they used to be either. Guess I'm rubbing off on them. Besides, who wouldn't want a crazy uncle like "Uncle Ted".
