There are a few rivalries that are well known in the gunblog community - like 1911 vs Glock, 9mm vs. .45, for example. But after hanging out with you passionate folks, I've discovered that there are more than a few things that will get you riled up. Texans, for instance, are serious about their chili and when the beans vs. no beans debate comes up you can be pretty sure what side they'll choose. (For the record, I'm pro-bean) People are serious about who they believe is the best James Bond and I've even witnessed some very heated discussions on the right way to make a grilled cheese sandwich.
For tonight's show, Bonnie and I want you to call in and make your case - whether it be slow zombies vs. fast zombies, AR vs. AK, Mac vs. PC, whiskey vs. scotch...you name it, we want to hear it. Join us tonight at 7PM eastern at BB&Guns on Blogtalk Radio.

If it has beans, it's not chili! :P
Chili has beans.
Tonight? Wednesday?
And yes, chili has beans. :)
Holy mother of jeebus... no Texan should ever go to Louisville KY. They will put noodles in your chili. I am not kidding. Do not order "chili" in Louisville.
Chili does not have beans. There is a dish that is strikingly similar to chili except that some perverted commie, in an effort to destabilize American Civilization, added beans to the recipe. It's rather tasty, but IT. IS. NOT. CHILI!
Noodles??? EW! That’s almost as bad as the corn on pizza I got in Hamburg, Germany. EEEWWW!!!
Firefly vs. Buffy? Now that's very divisive. Firefly AND Buffy! Yes, please! :)
Hope all went well with the show!

Firefly vs. Buffy?
There are no beans in Chili.
Noodles and Chili is called Chili Mac.
Fritos and Chili is called Fritos and Chili.
Parmesian cheese is good on any of the above.
Glad I can clear that up for you all.
Please stop garnishing your Chili with pinto beans.
Chili can have beans. In fact chili with beans is quite good. NOM!
The topics for this are endless. I can think of a handful of good ones.
One of these days one of you no-bean chili makers need to make me some no-bean chili so I can see what yall are talkin about. As long as I can remember, my family has always put beans in their chili. Try as i might, I can't seem to imagine no-bean chili. I would like to try some just to see what it is like.
I grew up in a lower middle class family, we weren't poor exactly, but we had to work hard for everything. Beans in chili made sense because beans were cheap and filling. I suggest that is probably where the whole beans in chili thing came from.
Now, corn in chili... THATS JUST WEIRD!

Red chili with beans or without beans is all pretty much the same to me. It is low class mild culinary Pablum. If you try to make it hot enough to count as spicy, it ends up being heat without flavor.
The chili I make I call Biohazard Chili - a green chili I make with more than a hundred jalapeno peppers (no beans). Screaming hot, but still full of flavor.
After I serve it I usually get late-night calls from my victims complaining about their "ring of fire".
So, in this mythical world where chili has neither beans nor meat, what, praytell, is the difference between "chili" and "spicy red-colored sauce"?
The difference between "chili" and "spicy red-colored sauce" is MEAT. Lots of it. :-)
Words mean things. Chili has no beans. PERIOD! You may have a dish that has beans in it and the recipe will be remarkably like chili, but it's NOT CHILI! It may taste good, and, in fact, does. But it IS NOT CHILI no more than an ox is a bull. …Similar, but VERY DIFFERENT.
You can call a Socialist a Progressive all you want... they are still a Socialist.
Please remember Logic class. All chili is stew, not all stew is chili. No matter how close it is.
I am fortunate to live near 2 Hard Times Chili parlos. And I prefer the Texas over the Cincinnatti.
Manhattan Style is a crime against nature. BELL peppers?!!!
Jay G: What mythical world? Who brought up meatless red sauce? Ick.
Beans-no-beans pales before the "It's only barbecue if it's brisket" kerfuffle.
They do something interesting with chili in Cincinnati. Meat, beans, noodles, onions and cheese. Usually called a 5-way.
Don't forget the ever contentious Penguins vs Ducks argument.
Its as bad as .308 vs .223.
