the SAF &...me?

Each spring, the annual NRA Meetings & Exhibits descend upon one special city in the United States. It's an exciting time for any gun enthusiast who is lucky enough to attend but perhaps even more so for gunbloggers, who take advantage of the event to meet with their peers.

This year, Alan Gottlieb of the Second Amendment Foundation approached me with the honor of being the hostess for their Blogger Reception. Much like my blogger dinner last year in Charlotte, it'll be an opportunity for real life fun and conversation with like-minded people you only know from the internet. Food will be provided, a cash bar will be available, and Mr. Gottlieb will be open to Q&A regarding the SAF and any legal cases that they have filed since their landmark McDonald vs. Chicago Supreme Court victory.

The reception is planned for Saturday, April 30th, from 6-9 PM at the Courtyard by Marriot located across the street from the convention center.

Many of you may already received an email invitation from Mr. Gottlieb but I'd like to extend the invitation to any blogger who attended my party last year in Charlotte. If you'll be in Pittsburgh and have Saturday evening free, please join us! RSVP (with name & email address PLEASE) to my email but hurry because space is limited.

Hope to see you there!

Wait a second?! Another Alan G.& Breda dinner? What an awesome coincidence.

I will be there and will be the life of the party..... as long as I don't have to sit next to a Masshole. :P

Did you have to attend last year, in order to attend this year?

Not necessarily. I think it's going to depend on how many RSVPs we've got. I'll put you down, though, if you email me your info.

I wish I could! But we just achieved debt-free (except the house) and are halfway to our six-month emergency fund. We're also traveling all over the place this summer, and I agreed to take the family to Disney World next Christmas, which means we need to start saving for that as soon as the emergency fund is done. Basically all my money is spent for about the next year.

If they'd hold the thing during the summer, I'd drive . . . but I'm also out of personal days because of IGOLD, so I'd have to fly to get there at all.

I had left mid day Saturday to return home. I plan to be in Pittsburgh, just not sure what days. Will try to make it to your party.

Countertop - please email me with your contact information.

This is my first NRAAM, so I wasn't there last year. I sent you email in case there is some room for first-timers.

Sign me up!

So, does this mean the Marriott got their acts together regarding the RKBA?

No more shenanigans like last year?

We told them after last year that until they reverse their policy, they'd never see another one of our dollars.

I can't make the NRA convention, but Breda, will you be able to get to Knoxville for the Lucky Gunner Memorial Day Weekend Shoot?

Breda said...

Oh, gosh, I wish. I doubt I'd be able to afford it, though.

I'm trying to talk Nancy R. at Excels at Nothing into coming.

The school district set it up so I could only use half my personal day on IGOLD (high-stakes testing rescheduled because of snow) and, God help me, I'm starting to think about it now. I could leave Springfield around noon on Friday and be in Pittsburgh by around 9:00 PM.

Is there still space?
