“Winnie the Pooh seems to me to be a fundamental text on national security.”

- Richard Danzig, possible future National Security Adviser in an Obama White House

Oh, bother. Seems Mr. Danzig has forgotten another important lesson from that very same rotund ursine philosopher...

"When you are a Bear of Very Little Brain, and Think of Things, you find sometimes that a Thing which seemed very Thingish inside you is quite different when it gets out into the open and has other people looking at it."
- Winnie the Pooh, The House at Pooh Corner

One of stupidity's blessings is that its most extreme form innoculates its sufferers against realizing how stupid they are.

On the other hand, there's a particularly treacherous version of stupidity that grants you realization shortly after you've done your Stupid Dance and sung your Stupid Song. I really hope that's the variety Mr. Danzig has, so that he is right now smacking his forehead.

On the other hand, being a Dem pol, he's probably used to shrugging off such moments, claiming they're distractions from the issues, and accusing anyone who publicly notes his idiocy of hate speech.

Why is Tigger disgusting?

Because he's always playing with Pooh.

That's what Tiggers do best.
