When I saw this question over at
Tam's (who saw it on
RNS) I immediately knew my answer. For a very long time this song has featured prominently on my life's
internal soundtrack, alongside other classics like Breakfast at
Tiffany's Moon River, a Tori Amos medley, a few Irish
drinking fighting songs and The Ladybugs' Picnic from Sesame Street.
Quirky fierceness for some zombie slaying? Yep, that'll do.
And in case you need a visual of the last thing ol' Zed might see when the undead SHTF?
My Buddy the Gun Enthusiast is happy to help.

Oh, cool! I hadn't heard that tune in, like, fo-evah!
I'm off to the hippie CD joint first thing in the AyEmm...
MSJ,
"this is the first day of my last days..."
Certainly in my list of five best driving songs ever.
I can never hear that tune without thinking of taking my 924S sideways across the highest flyover in Atlanta's Malfunction Junction with Trent cranked to eleven on the Blaupunkt and a 308GTB in the rearview...
Good times!

Yeah, I know. I'm eccentric.
Men of Harlech:
Second Verse.
Thou, who noble Cambria wrongest,
Know that freedom's cause is strongest,
Freedom's courage lasts the longest,
Ending but with death!
Freedom countless hosts can scatter,
Freedom stoutest mail can shatter,
Freedom thickest walls can batter,
Fate is in her breath.
See, they now are flying!
Dead are heap'd with dying!
Over might hath triumph'd right,
Our land to foes denying;
Upon their soil we never sought them,
Love of conquest hither brought them,
But this lesson we have taught them,
"Cambria ne'er can yield!"
