What most of my fellow Citizens do not realize is the the American Military Man and Woman takes as our Duty via our Oath the promise to "Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution..."
Not the President. Not some Political Party. Not some "Trendy" Political Nonsense.
The Constitution. That "Weird" Document that allows some to sit in Parks and Complain about Freedom. The "Piece of Paper" that some Political Elites feel is "Outmoded" and "Subject to Interpretation." That "Silly Scrap of Foolscap" that Defines our Freedoms, our Liberties, and the Limits we, as a Nation, place upon ourselves. Not some "Edict" or "Decree" or "U.N Resolution," but what a Group of Citizens tried back in the 18th century to give to their fellow Citizens, so that we might rule ourselves, because we did not need anyone else to tell us how to run our lives.
The Constitution. Our cemeteries, both at home and abroad, and a thousand places where no remains could be found, are the final home of those who served the Constitution.
God Help Us All if the day arrives that no one from the Next Generation steps forward and takes the Oath.
But if it ever happens, just ask the Vets if they could come back until the Madness passes.
We'll be there, because we took an Oath, and we won't let our Fellow Vets down by being AWOL.
