I found a link to Books for Soldiers over on Scully's blog. I'm going to bring the information to work and ask the library director if there's anything we can do. We weed out so many perfectly good books each month and sell them for pennies at the library book sale. Wouldn't this be better?

Thank you for doing that. If you want another note of cheer. . go visit Allatwitter on my blogroll. . She does a Haiku contest every Wednesday and the winner gets to send a BIG box of goodies to a soldier of their choice. I won a couple weeks ago and we got a really nice thank you note from my soldier (who was randomly selected as my soldier is back).

She also is going to the range for the first time thanks to our encouragement. Woo Hoo.

That sounds like a good site. There is also Operation Paperbook, which I've been supporting. In fact, my wife and I picked up some paperbacks at the Albuquerque Public Library friends' store yesterday that will eventually go to Afghanistan or wherever.
