Going to Mass with my mom and then to the parade. Corned beef is already in the crockpot, and I've never had green beer in my life.

I was told by an Irish girl that no self-respecting Irishman would even think of drinking green colored beer, because it was disrespectful to the brew.
Well Bob, she was correct, OTOH how could you tell if someone coloured the Guinness??
I'm breaking tradition today, no shepherd's pie and since I can't get good rashers of bacon here I'll end up going the corned beef route meownself. Almost time to put some Father Ted in the DVD player and draw off a pint of the dark stuff.
Oddly enough the only St Patrick's day parade I have ever attended was in Sligo.
Personally I think the only way to hear The Soldier's Song is when it's sung by plenty thousand Irish rugby fans just before a match.
Then again, I'm weird. And English.

I've never had green beer either, and probably never will. Besides, if your beer is so pale that food coloring will turn it green, you're drinking the wrong beer.
