in sickness & in health

Mike and I celebrated our 10th anniversary yesterday. Well...to be honest, "celebrated"* might be exaggerating a bit.

Mike came home early from work and gave me 10 beautiful red roses. We had a long hug, an "oh, don't, you'll catch my germs" smooch, went out for something to eat and were home by 5:30. Mike tucked me in on the sofa, brought me a cup of tea and I promptly fell asleep, hugging my box of Puffs Plus.

*The nice thing about marriage is that it isn't a one day event - you can choose to make a celebration out of your 10 year, 1 week & 3 day anniversary. Or even your every other day anniversary. There is no wrong day for a little "Hey! We're married! Yay us!"

p.s. 10 years? A DECADE? Wow, time sure flies. (and yes, I was a child bride. I was. Really.)

If someone kisses you when your nose is running it must be true love. Congrats you two.

It sounds like you've about got him trained.

And about that Child Bride thing, I sorta suspected, but felt awkward bringing it up...

There is no wrong day for a little "Hey! We're married! Yay us!"Actually, by definition, it's not an anniversary unless it's on a year mark from the original event. Though, for those of you that can actually make a marriage last that long, the last sentence is definitely true.

Congratulations.

Congrats,
Next year for number 11 remember that the traditional gift is "steel." My wife got me a beautiful ex sniper Mosin-Nagant 91/30 as an anniversary gift.

WAS a child bride?

You're STILL a child bride!

How do you stay so young looking?

Must be clean living, good loving, plenty of cats and plenty of shooting.

Congrats to both of you.

Yeah, I was a child bride too. Belated congratulations. The evylrobot and I just celebrated 10 years in December.

Belated congratulations! My wife and I are rapidly approaching our 20th (5/20).

I used to get her roses for each year, until it got out of hand around our 17th.
