Gun Nuts, the traveling edition

The Gun Nuts co-hosts have both been traveling around the country on gun related adventures - I'm still in Arizona and Caleb is in Missouri for the Bianchi Cup. It's been difficult trying to coordinate our schedules for the show so tonight on Gun Nuts Radio, at 9PM EST, I will be joined by Kevin Baker of The Smallest Minority...

Yes. THAT Kevin Baker.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin this past week at the Second Amendment Blog Bash/NRA Annual Meeting in Phoenix. It was an incredible thrill - I've been reading his blog for a long time now and am quite a fan. I had seen photos of Kevin so when he entered the media room at the convention center I had one of those, "Oh my gosh, it's him! Kevin!" reactions. Compare this for a moment to my less than impressed shrug when Ted Nugent walked right by me on the exhibit floor. Bloggers are far cooler in my opinion - just about anybody can put on a dumb hat and learn how to play guitar, but write like Kevin Baker? I think not.

Anyway, join us tonight on Gun Nuts Radio for an exciting hour of Blogbash stories, details of the exhibits and hopefully even an appearance by Caleb, reporting live from the Bianchi Cup.

If you have any questions for either Kevin or me or if you attended the Blogbash and would like to share your experience, please feel free to call in. The number is (347) 539-5436, we'd love to hear from you!

I'm not sure how to deal with all the sqeeeeing fandom. It's a little disconcerting.

I write Überposts, for jeebus' sake. With (as TD noted in the recent Vicious Circle podcast) lots of cut-n-paste (where I'm not transcribing from a book.)

Ah well, another aspect of the deeply weird world of gunblogging. I'm very much looking forward to the experience!

"just about anybody can put on a dumb hat and learn how to play guitar"

That's because you aren't a musician, dear. What's even more remarkable is that he's a musician who can "kill it and grill it". It's a profession as a whole (even in rock) which is even more wimpy than librarians (and I should know, being both).

Somebody needs to invite Ann Sparanese to the next Knob Creek shoot.

I am disappointed that you dissed The Nuge. His core music and shows of the 70's had a significant impact, at least on my formative teenage years.

He may not provide you with the thrills that Kevin does but, Ted still brings the enthusiasm and passion to everything that he does in public. It's zany, crazy, and refreshing every time I see him.

Kevin: that was Stingray, actually.

I may just have to call in tonight...

How much we hate FOX for killing Sarah Conner.

Ted can also hit stuff a long way away with a 10mm handgun- so he has that going for him.

(And think of how much PETA hates him.)

(Almost as much as I hate FOX.)

(Wow I really hate FOX right now.)

MSJ - Terminator started off good, but FOX managed to fuck it up.

I'm not really a music fan, guys. Sorry. But its cool what he does for the Second Amendment, for sure.

Dollhouse is still going. It's beginning to get interesting.

That is the thing that bugs me the most. How the hell can you be a Joss/Dollhouse fanatic and not also be a Summer Glau fanatic.

I can't picture it.

I tried to listen live for a change. I caught part of it, but was on an intermittent and slow WIFI connection, at a truckstop. I'll just have to listen to the podcast like I always do. I did get registered with blogtalk radio, so I can try the chat next time I get a chance to listen live.

Gunnuts is a nice change of pace from the other podcasts and audiobooks I listen to while driving.

Err, sorry about the squeeing, Kev. Wish I'd seen that before calling in... ;)

Great show guys, really.

And The Nuge can eat what he kills all he wants. Unless and until the books he allows to be sold under his name no long steal from my friends, he is dead to me.

Man, you attracted some real nut jobs.

Sounds like you guys did a great job and had a pretty good time.

When do we get a Caleb update from Bianchi cup?

Yeah, what was up with the troll callers?

I guess that's how you know when you've arrived: When you start wondering if you need a call screener.

I hadn't ever bothered to listen to a podcast before (I'm a visual guy), but that was pretty cool... except for the crank callers.
