Northcoast blogmeet pt. 3

JayG and Tbolt have excellent after action reports, so I won't rehash everything that's already been said but I will share some photos...

We had guns. Lots of guns. Glorious guns. Two trailers full. (no one counted how many but, really - it was almost obscene levels of gun porn.) Here's just a few...

And, of course, all those guns needed shooting.

Old guns...
New guns...
Pink guns...
Evil black guns...
Shotguns...
...which I didn't get a photo of because they and I still do not get along at all, and I'm terribly annoyed about it. I dream of blogshoots where the shotguns come out first, not as the sun is setting and my arms are like wet noodles.

Handguns...which I didn't get any action shots of because I was just way too busy having fun shooting them!

And, of course, my favorite of the day....Newbius's 308. I am rarely as happy as I am when I'm proned out with a rifle, getting a gorgeous bruise as a souvenir. I made a smiley face on my paper plate target. Shooting through the same hole over and over can get so boring, don't you think?

And for good measure, here I am trying out a Garand with a scope. Brilliant.

oooh! Is that an FN-49 in the middle of the top photo?

Man its too bad I missed this one, but it wasn't in the cards!

Yeah, I am so adding this link to today's post. Library types should have affairs with guns.

You win. I should have packed up and come up there instead of going to Knob Creek.

Wow that looks like fun!

Ooh is that you shooting a Beretta CX4? What did you think?

Also, did ya try the pistol grip shotgun in the 3rd pic?

"Is that an FN-49 in the middle of the top photo?"

Yes.

Like a real life version of the Matrix scene - "We need guns...lots of guns." Regretting not coming.

An FN 49 in the correct 8mm if I remember correctly. Sure wish I'd taken the opportunity to shoot it...

So where and when is the next one!? I need to start buying ammo now...

"An FN 49 in the correct 8mm..."

*pushes taped gun nerd glasses up on nose* Actually, the 8mm ones are Egyptian contract guns. The first ones were made in 7x57 for Venezuela.

(I got mine from Oleg. :) )

Great pics Breda, so when I show up with mine, and Newbius shows up with his, you'll have to make a decision... LOL

Two trailers.... plus the card table....plus whatever everyone was shooting....

Clarification and edification on the FN-49 picture: My friends 8mm Egyptian, serial #10XXX. As for the rest (from left to right): Tripod legs to a semi-auto 1919 in .308, my Marlin 60, my friends CZ Mauser in .308 (Israeli), the FN-49, my Universal M1 carbine, my CZ 24 (work-in-progress Scout rifle), and THOTpolice's AR.

Also, in the second pistol shot is a John Inglis Hi-Power with Stock, also my friends. I believe in the first pistol shot is T-Bolts old Browning in .380.

Breda was shooting Mad Saint Jacks Saiga in.410.

Big Mike was shooting Van's little girls Pink Cricket.

Don't know who owned what for the rest of the pictures, but although I heard there was an AK-47 there, I did not personally see one. Also, there was a major lack of Molle gear and Mall Ninja Gear present. Guess this group of shooters prefers to spend their money on Ammo and Guns. ; )

That lad in pic #4 is about to get a painful reminder of the might of God's own caliber.

Looks like y'all had a good time; we should do something like that around here occasionally...

doubletrouble, we must give Jay a little slack. Being from Mass, he does not get the opportunity to shoot the World's Greatest Battlefield Implement very often. Kinda funny watching these youngin's treating all rifles like they were M4's, though. Oh, well, guess it's time for us old guys to head back to the Range and give them the opportunity to experience the "Joy of Recoil", eh? Now where did I put that Springfield I was going to take to the Gun Show...

You know, I have shot a Garand before. I have no idea why it's positioned so poorly on my shoulder in that picture.

I had bigger problems loading it than shooting it, actually. Shooting it was fun...

"my friends CZ Mauser in .308 (Israeli)"

Oh, do want!

Ya know, Jay, any time you need a refresher on the Garand, all you gotta do is ask.

What I want to know is where did someone find a scope mount for a Garand?? Looks interesting - and given my eyesight, I would love to scope my Garand.

Fulton Armory has a top rail / scout scope mount for the Garand. It replaces the handguard. I have one with an AimPoint on it. Works well, but kinda spendy.

Also, where's the love for the Colt 1903 at the bottom of the pile! It deserves better than to be a rest for someone's 1911!
